Our weaving has been travelling far and wide, this time all the way to Australia!

For Nando’s Munna Para, designed by Juicy Design, we created a collection of custom woven discs with a slight dome shape in the centre, bringing together two very different weaving styles in one space.

On one side, striking black and white discs woven in polypropylene rope. On the other, a burst of colour with discs woven in our signature handwoven fabric.

We love the contrast between the two, from the different materials and weaving techniques to the mix of monochrome and colour. Loving this eclectic combination!

All made by hand in our Cape Town workshop before making their way across the ocean to their new home in Australia.

The Kizimu has travelled across the pond!

And we couldn’t be happier to see one of our newest designs already finding its way into projects around the world.

For Nando’s Loughton in the UK, designed by@stac_architecture, we created a cluster of:
3 x 1400mm ø x 500mm H
2 x 1200mm ø x 600mm H

Kizimu lampshades, each handwoven in our Cape Town workshop before making the journey overseas.

We love how these tall, sculptural designs work together as a cluster, creating a striking feature within the space. It’s always exciting seeing how our designs take on a whole new personality when used in different settings.

Our first Kizimu project across the pond, and we’re already ready to weave up more!

Part 4 of our Club Med South Africa project, designed by Mobius.

Moving into the bedrooms, our Kuku Cov 2 lampshades hang above the little table and chair setting in each room. We made 67 of these for the project, each woven in an original colourway created especially for the space.

Measuring 500mm diameter x 400mm H, they bring a little moment of colour into the bedrooms while tying back into the palette seen throughout the rest of the resort.

1 design, 67 rooms and a whole lot of Kuku Cov 2s woven up in our Cape Town workshop! Now in Club Med South Africa KZN!

Part 3 of our Club Med South Africa project.

The Sika Calabash has been one of the longest-standing designs in our range, but we love seeing it take on a completely different personality through colour.

For this recreational space at Club Med, three Sika Calabash lampshades were woven in a fresh, bold palette of oranges, blues and yellows, creating a little moment of their own above the table.

We love how the colours connect with the rest of the space, with the blues picking up on the blue wall seating and the oranges tying in with the chairs around the tables. A familiar Ashanti shape, woven up especially for this project.

Part 2 of our Club Med South Africa project
This time, we’re following the passageway, where a collection of our Chakula lampshades runs through the space, connecting different areas and moments along the way.

The Chakula is one of the designs from our existing range, but for this project each shade was woven in a bespoke colour palette created to work with the interiors. We love seeing how a familiar design can take on a completely different personality through colour.

And then night falls! With the lights on, the woven layers come to life, casting the most beautiful warm glow along the passageway.

Part 1 of a very exciting project!

Welcome to Club Med’s first all-inclusive resort in South Africa, set in KwaZulu-Natal where the bush meets the ocean.

Beautifully designed by Mobius, this new Club Med South Africa location brings together its incredible natural surroundings with bold interiors, colour and plenty of personality.

For the reception area, a cluster of our Kiboko pendant lights hangs above the staircase, each one handwoven in custom colours developed to work with the interior palette. We love the impact of the different sizes grouped together, especially in a space that gives them plenty of room to show off!

We created three sizes for this space:
900mm ø x 235mm H
1500mm ø x 317mm H
1700mm ø x 355mm H

A little taste of Mozambique, right in the heart of Bloemfontein.

Designed by INTERIO | DESIGN & DECOR, the new Mozambik Restaurant Bloemfontein brings the brand’s Afro Porto roots into a space filled with colour, pattern and warmth. Mozambik has always been about more than the food, with each restaurant designed to feel like a little escape while still having its own local personality.

We loved being part of bringing this one to life, creating a collection of Awali Tildi and Mara lights to sit amongst the layered patterns, textures and colours throughout the restaurant. Each piece was made by hand in our Cape Town workshop before making its way to Bloemfontein.

It is always great to work on a local project and see our pieces become part of a space designed around gathering, good food and a bit of that Mozambik holiday feeling.

Congratulations to INTERIO | DESIGN & DECOR and the whole team involved. What a great new home for Mozambik in Bloemfontein.

A project close to home, and one we loved being part of.

Designed by Kristen Page🇿🇦 for Nando's South Africa Fourways Mall, these custom double layered wall lights were woven in polypropylene rope, creating a striking feature that welcomes you into the space. We always enjoy working on projects that challenge us to think beyond our standard range, and these certainly make a statement.

The colours were carefully chosen to complement the interior, tying in with the Dlala (Play) bench seating pattern and the Indlu (House) ceiling pattern by Spamandla.Mdunyelwa. It is these thoughtful details that bring the whole space together.

A big thank you to One to One by Martin Döller. for the installation and Spier Arts Trust for the beautiful artworks. Congratulations to everyone involved on such a stunning project. We are proud to have been part of it.

There is something so satisfying about working within a single colour palette and finding different ways to bring it to life.

Designed by Fusion Design & Architecture Nando’s Basildon in the UK features a collection of our lighting, all created in shades of light blue, mustard and white. While every shade has its own shape and weaving style, together they speak the same colour language.

For this project, we created a collection of our Puka, Awali Halfu Tildi, Dunia and Nafasi lampshades, with a spot of our Wimbi basket lights.

Designed in collaboration with Fusion Design & Architecture, crafted in Cape Town, and now lighting up another beautiful Nando’s in the UK.
