"Shield of faith"

This painting immediately speaks of Ephesians 6:16:
“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; ”

The warrior himself is almost hidden behind the shield, because I wanted the main focus to be not on the strength of the warrior....... BUT ON THE STRENGTH OF THE SHIELD.
Victory comes not through our human ability, but through faith in Christ.

The Greek word for shield is:
Strong's G2375 - Thyreos (θυρεός)
•A large door-shaped shield
•Derived from thyra meaning "door"
•Covered almost the entire body of the soldier.

Prophetically, this reveals that faith is not just a small piece of armour.
Faith becomes a door of protection, a covering that stands between the believer and the enemy's attacks.

THE WARRIOR
The warrior represents the believer who has chosen to stand in spiritual battle.
"Fight the good fight of faith."
1 Timothy 6:12
It echoes:
"And having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:13

Sometimes faith looks less like advancing and more like refusing to move when hell is pushing against you.

THE SHIELD OF FAITH
The main focus of the painting.
Faith protects our heart, mind, destiny and calling.
Biblical faith is not wishful thinking.
It is confidence in the character and promises of God.
The shield declares:
"God's Word is more real than what I am seeing right now."

The enemy may release fear......but faith answers with promise.
The enemy may release doubt......but faith answers with truth.
The enemy may release intimidation......but faith answers with God's presence!

The shield covers nearly the entire warrior.
Prophetically this speaks of:
•Complete dependence on Christ
•Divine preservation
•Total trust
•God's covering power

THE FIERY DARTS OF THE ENEMY
The fiery darts can represent:
•Fear
•Accusation
•Rejection
•Intimidation
•Anxiety
•Unbelief
•Discouragement
•Delays
•Condemnation
However, in this painting the arrows never reach the warrior.
They strike the shield.
This is a prophetic reminder that many attacks sent against God's people never reach their intended target, because faith intercepts them first.
What the enemy intended to wound, becomes evidence of God's protection.

THE CROSS ON THE SHIELD
This is perhaps the most powerful element I wanted in this painting.
The shield bears the Cross.
This changes EVERYTHING!
Faith has power..... because faith is rooted in Christ.
“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”
Colossians 2:15 ESV
The cross declares:
•The debt is paid.
•Sin is defeated.
•Satan is disarmed.
•Victory is secured.

The cross on the shield is a declaration that every attack encounters the finished work of Jesus, before it ever reaches the believer.

THE GLORY LIGHT AROUND THE SHIELD
The fiery glow surrounding the shield represents:
•God's glory.
•Divine presence.
•Heavenly protection.
•The fire of God overcoming the fires of the enemy.
The enemy's arrows may burn....but God's glory burns brighter.

THE DARK CLOUDS
Dark clouds can often represent:
•Trials
•Testing
•Spiritual conflict
Yet God also appears in clouds.
"The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud." Exodus 13:21
The darkness surrounding the warrior reveals that faith is most visible when circumstances are darkest.
Faith shines brightest when the storm is greatest.

And the Scripture that beautifully brings it all together:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
When we look at this entire image through the lens of Joshua 1:9, it becomes a powerful message that courage is not the absence of a battle, but the steadfast assurance that God is present in the midst of it.

"The arrows of the enemy are real..... BUT SO IS GOD'S PROTECTION.
Storms are real..... BUT SO IS HIS PRESENCE.
Sometimes it may feel if darkness surrounds you..... BUT IT CAN NEVER OVERCOME THE LIGHT OF GOD'S GLORY."

"Footprints of grace"

Every element in this painting tells the same story: God bringing life where there was none, through a yielded daughter who keeps walking with Him.
When our focus is on Jesus, fruit becomes the natural consequence, rather than the goal.

John 15:5 says:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. ”

THE SOFT GREEN DRESS
Green speaks of:
Life.
Growth.
Healing.
Hope.
Flourishing in God's presence.
The softness of the dress reflects the nature of the Bride. Scripture teaches that meekness is not weakness, but strength under God's control.
It says:
"You do not have to become hard to be strong."
She carry the gentleness of Christ while walking in Kingdom authority.
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace..." (Galatians 5:22)

THE WARRIOR BOOTS:
They represents:
Spiritual endurance.
Readiness for battle.
Perseverance.
The Gospel of Peace.
Ephesians 6 speaks of having our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

Together, the soft green dress and warrior boots reveal a powerful prophetic meaning:
A warrior bride.
Someone who has learned that victory is not found in her own strength, but in remaining close to Jesus.

THE BARREN GROUND
The dry landscape represents:
Impossible places.
Delayed promises.
Disappointment.
Areas where nothing appears to be growing.
The Lord often sends His people into barren places..... to reveal His glory.
The ground declares:
"This place looks hopeless."
God answers:
"Watch what happens when My daughter sows."

THE SEEDS
Seeds in Scripture represent:
Faith.
The Word of God.
Obedience.
Promises spoken by God.
A seed often looks insignificant before it carries visible fruit.
Notice how she is not checking the soil first .....she is sowing because she trusts the One who gave her the seed.

THE COSMOS FLOWERS
Cosmos means harmony and divine order.
The flowers represent:
Beauty from barrenness.
God's order replacing chaos.
Restoration.
Joy after hardship.
Heaven's culture manifesting on earth.
The seeds doesn't only produce plants.....
They produce order where there was disorder.
Beauty where there was emptiness.
Life where there was death.

FLOWERS GROWING FROM EVERY FOOTPRINT
Every footprint becoming flowers speaks of:
Legacy.
Transformation.
Kingdom influence.
Anointed obedience.
Her very walk produces life.
This reflects Isaiah 52:7: so beautifully:
"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings."

"Even when we do not realise it, the places we walk with God are being changed forever."
The land behind us can never return to what it was.....life has touched it.

THE LION OF JUDAH
The lion represents Jesus as:
Our King.
Our Protector.
Our Defender.
Our Conqueror.
Our Faithful Companion.
The Lion is not walking ahead of her and not behind her.
The Lion is BESIDE her.
That represents a partnership..... intimacy with Him.

We never sow alone.
"Surely I am with you always." (Matthew 28:20)

May this painting encourage us to:
Leave beauty...... where others see barrenness.
And leave hope..... where others expect failure.❤️

Lately, I have been receiving more and more commission requests for teenagers and young adults.
This month alone I have 4 paintings to do!!
This creates a stirring deep in my spirit and fills me with great anticipation and excitement!

This is the next generation.
The generation that carries purpose, calling and Kingdom influence.
They are the ones who will do great and mighty things for the Lord....... many are already stepping into what God has prepared for them!

I absolutely love seeking God's heart for each one and seeing what He speaks into their lives.
What an incredible privilege it is to partner with Holy Spirit, in creating prophetic artwork that speaks into their lives to encourage, affirms and release His promises over them.

Lord, You are up to something beautiful, raising up a generation for such a time as this........and I cannot wait to see it unfold!

"Led Into His Rest"

"He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters." (Psalm 23:2)

This painting is a beautiful invitation into the heart of the Good Shepherd.
The place where trust begins.
Where the soul ceases from its own labour and surrenders to the perfect care of God.
The woman resting among the flowers is a picture of complete surrender.
There is no movement, no anxiety, no reaching and no effort.
Instead, there is just this quiet confidence in the One who leads, provides, protects and sustains.
It reflects the promise of Jesus:
"Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
This is a deep spiritual rest found in abiding in Christ.
It is the confidence that God is already at work, even when we are still.

The Green Pastures
The green hills echo David's declaration in Psalm 23.
Green pastures represent God's provision, nourishment and abundant life.
The landscape stretches endlessly, symbolising the goodness of God.
His provision is not scarce or temporary .....but overflowing. Every hill speaks of His faithfulness, declaring:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)
The Lord brings us into places where we are refreshed, restored and strengthened for the journey ahead.

The Mountains
The mountains rising in the distance speak of God's majesty, strength and eternal nature.
Throughout Scripture, mountains are places of encounter with God.
Moses met Him on Sinai, Elijah heard His whisper on Horeb and Jesus was transfigured on a mountain.
The mountains remind us that the God who calls us to rest is also the sovereign King who reigns above every circumstance.
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2)
Though mountains often symbolise challenges, here they appear peaceful and covered in life.
This reveals a prophetic truth: under God's hand, obstacles become testimonies and places of struggle become places of beauty and perspective.

The Field of Flowers
The flowers beautifully connect with the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:
"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these." (Matthew 6:28-29)
The abundance of flowers represents God's care.
Each flower becomes a prophetic reminder that God never intended for us, His children, to live burdened by fear, worry, or self-reliance.
Just as He clothes the flowers in beauty, He faithfully provides for our every need.
The different colours scattered throughout the field reminds us that His blessings comes in many forms, all revealing His goodness.

The Open Sky
The blue sky represents heaven's covering over us as believers.
The clouds suggest God's nearness and His continual presence.
The sky creates a sense of openness and freedom, reminding us that there are no limits to God's faithfulness.
His promises stretch further than the eye can see.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end." (Lamentations 3:22)

The Pomegranates
At the forefront of the painting rest the pomegranates, rich with prophetic significance.
In Scripture, pomegranates were associated with the priestly garments of Aaron (Exodus 28:33-34), the beauty of the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 8:8), and the design of Solomon's Temple (1 Kings 7:18-20).
They symbolise fruitfulness, abundance, blessing and covenant relationship.
Their position in the foreground has a deeper meaning....
Before we enter the beautiful fields of rest, we are first reminded of God's covenant faithfulness.
The opened pomegranate reveals countless seeds, speaking of multiplication and promises fulfilled. It declares that God never forgets what He has spoken.
"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations." (Deuteronomy 7:9)

The woman
The woman resting becomes a representation of every believer who has learned to trust the Shepherd.
Surrounded by beauty yet contributing nothing to create it.
Everything provided is from the hand of God.
It's a picture of surrender, safety and trust.
It reflects the soul that has stopped trying to carry burdens that belong to the Lord.
"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)
