Our next stop was Ghana, where we ventured into Kakum National Park to experience its breathtaking canopy walk. Suspended high above the lush rainforest, the views were absolutely unforgettable.

Taking these physical keepsakes home reminded us of a famous Ghanaian proverb: Sankofa, which translates to "Go back and get it." Derived from the Akan language, the full proverb—"Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi"—beautifully teaches us that "it is not taboo to go back and retrieve what you have forgotten." It is a lovely reminder to always cherish where we have been as we continue moving forward.
