JPSculpts JPSculpts is a South African polymer clay sculptor based in Durban, KZN. JPSculpts is available for new commissions and reproductions of previous sculpts.

For more information email [email protected] JPSculpts was born through a life long love and interest for drawing and art, with a particular interest in anime, and an unfortunate retrenchment from his permanent career in industrial roofing during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. JP enjoys the versatility that comes with using polymer clay. He has been commissioned to sculpt a wide range of figurines and has seen his work travel as far as the UK for clients.

Batmobile

I mentioned in my previous post that I had been working on something a bit different from my usual sculpts. I am so stoked to have been commissioned to build a… (drumroll please)

🦇 BATCAVE 🦇

Its being built in a bedroom cupboard space which has been hollowed out and reshelved. I have been working on all the figures, rockery, finishings, and structures that will go in there, as well as repainting some of the figures and in this case, a batmobile.

The client bought a cheap Batmobile and wanted it to fit in more with what we have planned for the cave in the garage section. So the goal was to grunge it up a bit and add some lights instead of the yellow plastic lights that were there. The original colour was also just not right so that needed to be changed as well.

I am quite happy with how this one turned out. There are more vehicles to come so keep an eye out for these future posts.

JPSculpts still here!

Lockdown and covid… it’s been 18 months of change and personal chaos. For the past 7 months I have had a day job which has put my sculpting back a bit, BUT I have still be busy behind the scenes sculpting as well as working on a big project which I will share bits and pieces with you in the coming weeks.

I am going to try be more active and keep everyone up to date with what is going on with JPSculpts.

I would also like to share information that you would find relevant and interesting. So now you have a chance to say what you would like to see from my content!
