I've been neglecting my socials again, so I thought a random Tuesday would be a great day to share this cute hippo that was painted as a special gift.

Do you have a hippo you'd also like painted?

He seems so adorable but his Mom says he’s a tiny terror. What’s your take?

If you would your very own painting of your fluffy children, just pop me a DM and we can go from there.

There are some paintings that carry a little more weight.

This is Willow. She was sweet, playful, and just a little bit adventurous. She meant the absolute world to her mom.

This portrait is one of four, created as a deeply personal gift. I spent time going through old photos, looking for something that felt like her. Not just a good picture, but a moment that held her personality. Something that felt alive.

Not just to paint what they looked like, but to bring back the feeling of them. The way they looked at you. The small, familiar expressions you don’t realise you miss until they’re gone.

Willow was the only one in this set who had passed on, which made this piece especially meaningful to create.

If you’ve ever wanted to hold onto a piece of your pet in this way, I work from photos and can create something just as personal for you, wherever you are in South Africa.

You’re welcome to send me a photo of your pet, and I’ll guide you through the process.

I wanted to share something special I painted recently.

This portrait was commissioned as a gift for my neighbour's mom. She lost her dog, and this painting was meant to give her a little piece of comfort and a way to remember her precious companion.

When I paint pets, it’s never about creating a perfect photo copy. It’s about capturing the little quirks, the tiny expressions, the moments that make them unmistakably themselves.

Our pets become family, and when they’re gone, the absence can feel enormous. Painting is my way of helping people hold onto those memories, to see them again in colour and light, and to feel a bit of that joy every time they look at the piece.

I wanted to share this here because I know so many of us understand that special bond, and those little moments that stay with us long after they’re gone.

If you’d like, I’d love to hear about the little quirks or memories of your pets that make them unforgettable.
