Can we draw your attention to exactly what is lying beneath our streets.
This section of pipe has been removed from the ground — rusted through, severely corroded and failing. Councillors have pleaded for replacement of ageing infrastructure, but residents are told there is no budget.
Yet every burst pipe, every water outage and every hole that grows deeper comes at a cost to our community.
How much longer must we wait for action? Our water infrastructure cannot be ignored until it fails completely.
