If a TV's going in the bedroom, give it a reason to earn the wall.

This one sits recessed into a lit niche, framed by fluted timber on one side and a backlit display cabinet on the other, floating cabinetry carrying it all beneath. When it's off, it reads like art. When it's on, the room was already built for it.

That's the difference the right unit makes.

Not every dressing table has to be an afterthought tucked in a corner.

Give it an arched mirror, a run of floating oak shelves, three bare bulbs dropping from the ceiling at different heights, and it stops being furniture and starts being a feature. This one earns its spot in the room.

Privacy without shutting the light out. That's the job the timber slats are doing here.

They screen the shower from the rest of the room without walling it off, so the freestanding tub, the double vanity, the whole space still reads as one connected room. Warm oak against cool stone, function and design working the same angle instead of fighting each other.

Every detail here is doing something. Nothing's just for show.

Happy Women’s Day to all ladies out there. Because someone has to make the sandwiches!

Only joking. Obviously.

Truth is, most of what actually holds the world together runs through women who rarely get named for it. The ones keeping a family steady, a business steady, a room steady, while everyone else takes credit for being calm.

I see it every day in my wife Juanita. She is the anchor. Not in the soft, decorative way people mean when they say that. In the real sense, the one who holds things steady while I chase the next idea, who makes a house feel like a home, who makes everything genuinely better just by her being in it.

So happy Women’s Day, properly this time. To the women who carry more than they’re ever given credit for, and to mine specifically, who makes my life better in every way that counts.

This is a passage, widened just enough to hold a proper desk, storage, and open shelving without ever feeling like a corridor doing double duty. The trick isn't adding more, it's restraint. Simple lines, one materials palette, nothing fighting for attention.

The guest loo doesn't have to play by the same rules as the rest of the house. This one didn't.

That mirror is the whole personality of the room, a half circle traced in black steel, backlit so the light seems to come from behind the wall itself. Paired with a matte black sink and a wall-hung toilet in the same black, the whole space reads as one confident, contrasting idea.

Sometimes the smallest room in the house is the one you get to have the most fun with.

The PJ lounge. No agenda beyond being together.

That timber ledge running along the back of the sofa isn't just a design flourish, it's a wraparound bar. Drinks, snacks, remotes, all within arm's reach without anyone having to leave the couch. Built for the nights nobody wants to end.

And yes, that's a wall of pug portraits. Some homes need a splash lamp. This one needed a whole gallery.
