At Food Ink, our Housekeeper Cooking Lessons are genuinely hands-on.

We don't simply hand a student a recipe book, demonstrate a dish and leave them to figure out the rest.

We cook together.

We demonstrate techniques, explain why things work, guide each step and give our students the opportunity to practise with support along the way.

From preparing ingredients and understanding flavours to mastering techniques and putting a meal together, every lesson is designed to develop practical skills that last.

Because it's not just about making one delicious meal during a lesson.

It's about building the confidence to walk into the kitchen tomorrow, know what to do and prepare a meal independently.

Today was all about hands-on learning, practical skills and creating delicious food.

Our housekeeper cooking lessons aren't about memorising recipes.

They're about learning how to cook — understanding ingredients, techniques, seasoning and how to put together meals that people actually want to eat.

And there's something incredibly rewarding about watching someone go from "I'm not sure" to "I made this!"

That's why we do what we do.

Anina is our amazing Food Ink representative and cooking instructor in Cape Town, looking after our housekeeper training and cooking classes in the Mother City.

Her role is about so much more than teaching recipes.

It's about helping housekeepers build confidence, practical skills and the ability to prepare delicious meals for the families they work with.

From everyday family favourites to learning new techniques, our lessons are designed to make cooking feel easier, more enjoyable and more confident.

Last night, the kitchen became the party. 🇮🇹❤️

We took an Italian-inspired dinner and turned it into a hands-on cooking experience — making fresh pasta, cooking together, sharing a few laughs and eventually sitting down to enjoy everything we had created.
