Something new is coming to Illovo, and we are opening it with a Halloween weekend! 🎃💀

Introducing Clay Café Privé!

Join us on 31 October & 1 November as we celebrate the launch of our new space with a Halloween painting experience.

We have got the ceramic skulls, the paint, the pizza and the drinks. All you need to bring is yourself, your favourite people and a little creativity.

Whether your skull turns out spooky, colourful or hilariously questionable, that's all part of the fun!

R400 per person includes:
💀 A ceramic skull to paint
🍕 A pizza
🥤 A soft drink
🎨 A three-hour painting session

Before your ceramic reaches the table, there’s already been a lot of work behind it.

Every piece starts with clay, is shaped and checked by hand, left to dry, and then goes through its first firing before it is ready for you to paint.

Once your design is finished, we glaze it and bake it again to give it that glossy final finish you take home.

It is a longer journey than most people realise, and that is part of what makes each finished piece feel so special.

Our Christmas stencils have arrived in studio, along with other new designs to try, including paw prints for your dog’s bowl. Choose your ceramic, pick your colours and add your own personal touch.

Pick a ceramic piece you love, choose your colours, and paint it your way. Once you’re done, we’ll glaze and bake it in our ceramic oven, then let you know when it’s ready to collect.

Most pieces are ready in 2–4 weeks.

No experience needed. No pressure to make it perfect. Just choose a piece, settle in and enjoy the process.
