HAUS What started in 1987 as a passion project by Peter Herrmann and his wife Coba, has since turned into the largest fabric distributor in South Africa.

Founded by Hertex, HAUS was created to provide customers with instant access to an expertly curated collection of homeware to curate spaces that feel comfortably you. With 14 showrooms nationwide and the recent expansion into homeware and food, the Herrmanns have proven that there truly is no challenge they won’t take on. Hertex, HAUS and 1987 Eatery is run by Peter and Coba Herrmann’s three powerhouse daughters, Carla Herrmann van der Merwe, Pauline Herrmann-Keys and Katrin Herrmann-van Dyk, who humbly work on the ground alongside their 200+ employees every day. Despite their rapid growth in recent years, Hertex has managed to keep family at the core of their successful operation. Going beyond family-run and transcending into family culture. Peter Herrmann explains: “Family culture is to communicate and work together as one team.”
