A quick look at me painting the 'Big Eye Girls' tiles I shared last week. From the first brushstroke to the final result after firing. I only have 3 of these tiles available at the moment, but you can order more on the website. Link in the comments.

Something a bit different today. I don’t usually take on logo projects as everything I make is hand-painted, but I made an exception for this request. Clients asked if I could try one, so I gave it a shot. It’s not my usual style, but here is the result on a 4-tile setup. Think it worked out well and it’s going to look great on their pizza oven.

On my painting table today, just felt like playing a bit with these big-eyed girls. I’ve tucked them into the kiln now, so I’m holding thumbs that the colours come out just right!

My last workshop was the mirror class, where I taught how to cut flowers from ceramic tiles. Everyone chose their own color palettes, and Surina picked these beautiful autumn colors.
Look how lovely her mirror turned out! It will be such a pleasure to hang and use.
Well done Surina Hall!👌

Who says mosaics have to be big?
Stop thinking you need weeks to create something stunning. Sometimes, the most beautiful art is the kind you can hold in your hand and finish in just a few hours.
From upcycled sardine tins to my 15cm and 20cm square blocks, I love working on a smaller scale. These pieces allow for so much variety, I’m talking hand-cut tiles, textures, and intentional layout of handmade inserts, all packed into just a few centimeters. It’s all about the story and thinking outside the box, not the dimensions.
Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!👇

I’ve been hard at work getting all my orders out the last two weeks, but I just had to stop and share this.

Someone once said if you have animals in your life, you will laugh at least once a day. Over the years, I’ve found that to be so true.
A feral cat made herself at home here, and before I knew it, she had three kittens right on the "Welcome" mat at my kitchen door. What can you do? Instant "Kitten Ouma!"
It’s six weeks later now and they are all over the place. The other night I couldn’t find them anywhere. I went to do the dishes, opened the cupboard door, and found them cozy in an old washing powder bucket! I only then realized the cupboards had an opening at the back. Yesterday was the same story, I opened the door and all three were staring at me.
What can you do except laugh? 😂

It’s one thing to make the inserts and tiles, but seeing them become part of your finished mosaics is the best part of my job. Thanks to everyone who sent these photos in!
