I’ve been dreaming about these for a while, and I’m so happy to finally share them with you. 🤍

Our new scarves are a blend of mohair and silk. The mohair gives them warmth, strength and that beautiful lustre, and the silk adds a softness you have to feel to believe.

I wanted to make something that anyone could wear, men and women alike, and something that would be with you for years.

They wash beautifully, they stay soft, and they only get better with time.

Some days start before the sun is up and end long after it has set behind the mountains. There are orders to pack, looms to check, goats to tend, emails waiting, and a farm that never really sleeps.

Running a small family business is not easy. Nobody tells you how many hats you will wear or how often you will question yourself. But then a carpet comes off the loom, the light catches the mohair just right, and I remember exactly why we do this.

A labour of love, from field to floor. 💚

Long before mohair becomes a carpet in your home, it starts with the health and safety of our Angora goats on our family farm in the Eastern Cape.

Herd health checks, vaccinations, careful staff management, and round the clock predator protection all go into keeping our goats thriving.

Once shorn, the fibre begins its journey to our factory in Alicedale, where it’s hand woven by artisans with decades of craft behind them.

It’s early mornings, hard work, and constant care. It’s also one of the most rewarding things we do.

A question I get asked all the time is how do you actually wash a mohair carpet? Truth is, it’s so much easier than people think.

I simply use hair shampoo, Omo, or Woolite. Wet the carpet with water mix the soap in a bucket of water and pour it over the carpet.

Then I sweep it with a broom, hose it down really well, and hang it over some chairs or a fence to dry in the sun or wind. That’s it.

No dry cleaners, no complicated products, just a little time and fresh air.

Mohair is such a forgiving fibre, and it always comes out looking brand new.
