Grateful for the opportunity to return to my alma mater and take the TEDx University of Johannesburg stage, to share the value of interior design not just as an aesthetic pursuit, but as a language of life, culture, and shared humanity.

It was an honour to lend my voice to the future of design and to celebrate how our spaces can shape the way we live, connect, and grow.

✨ Yesterday, I delivered my first TEDx Talk in Pretoria ✨

I spoke on “African Architecture vs. Western Design”, sharing why our built environments should reflect Africa’s identity and values. The experience stretched me, taught me so much about public speaking, and reminded me of the power of speaking from the heart.

I’m now looking forward to speaking again at the University of Johannesburg on October 8th, and to continuing the conversation on what African design can and should become.

I’m so excited (and deeply grateful) to share that I’ll be showcasing Shumukh Design at this year’s Decorex Joburg — South Africa’s premier design and interiors expo.

This will be the first-ever public exhibition of my work, and I’ll be using this platform to bring our African design stories to life with elegance, purpose, and cultural depth.
