This is Atelier Giorgio’s latest residential project. Luxury is not declared, it is felt. Here, elegance lies in restraint: no ornamentation, only the quiet harmony of material, proportion, and light.

In the heart of bustling Sandton, this residence offers a serene escape, where calming neutral tones, soft plush couches, and a fluted travertine fireplace create a sense of stillness and ease.

A combination of locally crafted pieces and imported Italian furniture brings together the best of both worlds, timeless European design and bespoke South African craftsmanship.

A very special moment for Atelier Giorgio!

Our Clouds End project graces the cover of the September issue of South African Home Owner, accompanied by a seven-page editorial feature inside.

Designed around warmth, restraint and a sense of quiet luxury, the home brings together natural stone, warm timber, soft ivories and considered moments of contrast, creating spaces that feel refined, but above all, lived in.

Seeing this project documented across these pages, and on the cover, is an incredibly proud moment for my studio.

Integrá Wellness Studio redefines the language of wellness through an interior that is both restorative and quietly luxurious.

Designed to feel calm, considered and entirely unlike the traditional wellness environment, the space is shaped by soft architectural curves, tactile materials and a restrained palette that invites a sense of stillness. Rich, dark stained oak joinery, imported Arte textured cupboard inlayed and natural honed travertine marble slabs establish warmth and permanence, while dramatic Calacatta Viola marble introduces a bold expression of natural beauty. Société by Giorgio pleated wall lights cast a soft ambient glow, celebrating craftsmanship while enriching the atmosphere throughout.

Every curve, material and proportion has been carefully considered, allowing innovative wellness technology to exist within an environment that feels welcoming, elevated and deeply intentional. The result is a studio where exceptional design becomes an integral part of the wellness experience.

Close-up details of Ethos Restaurant Morningside, Inspired by the Mediterranean and its timeless features.

Ethos in Morningside was a toned down space with a neutral pallet and a sophisticated feel. The intent and inspiration of the space was to bring the look and feel of the Mediterranean, however doing so by using local artisans to welcome a South African flare.

Ethos was entered in the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards international competition in 2020 and later on, on a local level, won the 2020 Luxe Hosco Restaurant Style award in partnership with Bonang Matheba & House Of BNG for its interiors, atmosphere & ambiance.

Gelato Mania Nine Yards!

Inspired by the quiet elegance of Palma de Mallorca and designed by Atelier Giorgio Design

A space where sun-washed stone meets soft Mediterranean hues, and where texture, light and materiality do the storytelling. Drawing from the Balearic rhythm, warm, pared back, effortlessly refined, the design balances rustic tactility with considered detailing.

Honeyed oak, woven textures and tailored yellow upholstery introduce softness, while sculptural timber tables, scalloped joinery and pleated lighting create an atmosphere that feels intimate and transportive.

As with every Gelato Mania store, the concept is rooted in place.This chapter speaks of Mallorca, sunlit, textured, timeless.

The new flagship at Nelson Mandela Square reimagines the spirit of a French seaside salon, refined, nostalgic, and effortlessly elegant.

Inspired by the timeless charm of Provence and the Côte d’Azur, the space blends Mediterranean warmth with Parisian sophistication.

Rich walnut paneling and solid oak floors ground the interior in craftsmanship and depth, while a checkerboard marble floor adds playful geometry beneath soft ambient light. At its heart, a sculptural plaster island, inspired by scoops of gelato, becomes a focal point framed by turned timber columns and golden silk skirting.

Velvet and silk upholstery evoke the relaxed glamour of French Riviera hotel lounges, complemented by Moroccar burgundy tiles and sculptural brass lighting that cast a golden glow over curated art. The result is both nostalgic and new, a celebration of gelato through a lens of continental sophistication and local craft.
