The Candleworks The Candleworks specialises in individually crafted quality hand-made fragranced candles, and bamboo candle holders.

The Candleworks specialises in individually made exclusively hand-crafted candles, using the finest waxes, and essential and fragrance oils, sourced both locally and from around the world (these oils are also sold individually, including a number of unique blends). Additionally we specialise in handmade bamboo candle holders, which are of original design and exclusive to The Candleworks. These candle holders can also be used for plants, including herbs, individually, or in groups, allowing one to have, for example, an entire hanging garden/herb garden, in a relatively small area. Custom candles can be made to your specifications and we also specialise in filling suitable containers of your choice in any colour or fragrance that you desire.

Partner/s needed for retail:

In the new year we're going to try to get a shop at Prison Break Market in Glenferness. Unfortunately The Candleworks won't be enough to keep an entire shop going. So I am looking for complementary products (or an outright partner).

The market is open from Wednesdays to Sundays, so costs would include the rent and a salesperson for those days. If you think you have something that fits the bill, please DM me.

In order to cover all the costs, I reckon we'd need to turn over about R36,000 a month. I think the rental is about R7,000 a month and a stall sitter would cost similar.

I'm also considering asking them if we can do candle dipping there as it's great for kids of all ages and I believe it would be very popular.

A student might be suitable to run the store and manage the candle dipping so if we can find someone studying part time to do both, it would be ideal.

How time flies! We've been closed for what seems like a minute and next week Saturday 13th January '24 we re-open for our 2024 Season.
Our trusty entrepreneurs are busy right now planning, making, creating so that when we re-open they can dazzle you with their creations.
Being self-employed is not for the faint of heart. One has to start from.scratch pretty much every day so you can be sure our entrepreneurs have nerves of steel....but...they wouldn't...no couldn't do anything else. They're mavericks which makes chatting to them such an adventure. Boring is not on the menu especially at Bryanston Market.
