Kenny Morolong emerged as a leader at a time when commitment to revolutionary work was out of fashion and often met with hostility. While others retreated in search of comfort and popularity, he chose the harder path of organisation, mobilisation, and ideological defence of the movement.
His leadership within the ANC Young Pioneers was forged in difficult conditions, where standing firm required courage, discipline, and readiness to withstand criticism. He led not for recognition, but out of duty to the struggle and belief in the historic mission of the ANC.
By assuming responsibility when it was unpopular to do so, Kenny Morolong helped preserve the revolutionary consciousness of young people and ensured continuity of the movement’s values. His record reflects a militant commitment to principle, collective leadership, and unwavering loyalty to the ANC.
