"Ek besef net weer eens: Dit vat baie lank om ʼn kombers te hekel. Tog is dié kombers my oë en hart, as ek lankal nie meer hier is nie, om die mense se mense se mense vir wie ek so lief is warm en veilig te hou."

I thought I'd share with you my most favourite item I have crocheted this year. This beautiful beach bag. I just love everything about it. The colours, the size & the softness of the cotton yarn

My niece send me a photo of a similar bag she saw and begged me to crochet one for her. Obviously I like a challenge and couldn't wait to get going. I didn't have a pattern but it wasn't to difficult to work out how to arrange the squares. All I new it had to be done in cotton yarn, seeing that she wanted to take it to the beach.

What a joy it was for me to see this lovely bag take shape and then finally to wrap it up and give it to her. I will never forget the expression on her face when she opened it. She was overjoyed....and so was aunt Nadine.

Those little cards are a great idea!! Especially if you're like me who gets bored with a project very easily. Then I start with the next one and before I know it I can't remember which hook or yarn I've used for my WIPs. So let's stock up on those cards.

Never forget the details of a WIP again.

Grab the download for this cute printable on the blog.

This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine!

Who would have thought that an old glass jar & a little bit of left over cotton yarn could create such amazing light. Go on. Make your light shine bright.

The famous GRANNY SQUARE. This little square is as old as time in the Crochet world but keeps on popping up in fashion items each season...as seen in this cute Summer 2023 top from .

So it looks like I'll be teaching the granny square pattern for quite some time to come.

The Winter Holidays are here & time for kids to do some creative stuff! Yesterday I had so much fun to teach the girls how to crochet with T-shirt yarn. I taught them 2x basic stitches to make their own placemat.

The stretchy yarn works perfect for little hands and fingers. Not only does is make the learning process easier but is wonderful exercise for those little fingers.

Kids crochet classes are amazing! O my goodness, their creativity after just one lesson stunned me. They returned yesterday for their second crochet class and couldn't wait to show me their creations. I just realized once again, never underestimate the capability & skills of a child. Well done girls!
