Sculpture Koerper Ei from my research about early art, cave painting and early sculptures. It is from walnut wood from the forest next to my studio in the Rax Alps. For me it’s essentiall to make the paint my self and use natural materials for it. The sculpture is asking the question of how to make the inner body visible.

Object Vase - carved from locally sourced spruce wood. With technique and inside is a glass vase so you can use it for flowers. Part of my cave paintings and early art project.

This chair is inspired by the tradition of the stick-chairs: functional and made from wood that is around a farm house and therefore sustainable. I made it from oak from Lower Austria and wood from a plum tree out of my garden. It’s made with hand tools and partially finished with yakisugi technique and oiled with linseed oil. Sculptures, vessels, stools, paintings - all circle around wood. Come by and see them for yourself: art from locally sourced wood and fallen trees, abstract paintings with paint I made myself. Open every Thursday - except holidays - from 4 to 7 pm and by appointment. 🇦🇹

This is why I love doing art: one has the best offices in the world! And one can bring the dog to work. Now I reached the thickest part of the it has 80-100 cm in diameter. So I need to split it to be able to transport it. Walnut is very hard to split. I split it along cracks that are already in the wood - that are the weakest parts of the tree. And I have great help from my dog - she is a wood expert. Sometimes it feels like the tree doesn’t want to leave its place where it stood for about 140-150 years. I feel sorry for the tree.

Bye bye exhibition and archive residency at The art work is going home now. Where are the q***r artists in the archive, we asked? And we found plenty. Artistic research with and exhibition with .danielhill Also the poplar tree trunk from the sound installation fits perfectly on the bike. Very nice indeed. What will be next, I ask myself?
