This fabric is the People's Princess 👸

And you can see why in this cosy Mentone dining area. It floats, it glows but it isn't fussy. It's approachable and has something special to give to every room. The perfection addition to a thriving family space.

Fabric Creations loves creating curtains for our customers using Nettex's Bali in Pearl. After we installed this wavefold sheer it was like the room relaxed. The effect is especially pronounced with the way the tracks bend and the particular placement of the curtain split. These choices flatter the room, giving the windows and the view beyond the exact treatment they deserve.

Curtains go beyond windows 🪟

Fabric Creations is obviously obsessed with textiles (it's sort of in the name!) so there's no surprise that we reckon the cheat code to a beautiful room is a beautiful drape. Something that plays with light, colour and directs line of sight. And hey, why not make it functional? Like a room divider.

You can see here how well a drape, sheer or not, draws an easy line between spaces. Intimate and private when in use or inviting and airy when pushed to the side, the big win with a drape divider is the flexibility. They also make an attractive back drop to a wide range of activities.

Fabric Creations, at your service 🫡

What you see here is a Twin Giotto, a very neat and functional roof system that’s no slouch in the style department. To be more specific, this is a Twin Giotto fabricated using Dickson’s Acrylic Range in G636, a choice of awning cloth that beds the system very well into this modern patio. To be even more specific, this is a Twin Giotto we installed in 2023.

Looks fresh, no? It’s all in the after care.

We recently returned to perform maintenance. It was a straightforward call, ensuring the system was well lubricated and tensioned correctly. This kind of proactive servicing is a no-brainer. If you love your product, it always pays to look after it. We know that thanks to a responsible owner, this Giotto will continue to look good and function well for years to come.

This service call is a perfect reminder that we’re here for our customers, even after the initial installation is complete. So don’t lose our number.

Rust, Cherry, Flame and Brick 🍒❤️‍🔥🧱

What samples would we pull for a client obsessed with all tints, tones and shades of red?

The key would be to make sure we displayed the versatility and hidden depths of this rich colour. Pattern and texture are a must-see for someone who wants to make red a feature. Some lush berry, velvets would be a no-brainer, but to overlook fabrics that lean earthy would be leaving a lot out. Something more natural feeling may not be the most obvious choice, but then again, the range red has is part of its allure.

A Room for Every Mood 🫧

Back in June we gave a sneak peek of a project we'd been working on for months. This is that project.

We feel so lucky to be able to share our contribution to this incredible home with you all. Every space is a masterclass of design and craftsmanship. Every room is a world of its own. Pictures can hardly do it justice.

Some of our highlights are creating a floaty backdrop in the ethereal main ensuite, matching drape textiles to wallpaper, adding a layer of texture in cosy sitting rooms, and showcasing the range of Roman blinds. We're also big fans of the tasselled, velvet curtain pulling aside to reveal some bottles of Naught Gin!

We're so thankful for being able to help execute the vision of the owners and Kate Walker Design. The home is a reminder that creativity and craft firmly belong in the family home.

Beautiful combos and the people who love them 💙

We are a solutions-based business. Granted, we get to create very lovely looking solutions, but there are issues at the core of our customer's requests. It could be a requirement for privacy, for light control or something more designed focused. A room needs softening or balance or a lift. It could be all of the above.

There's no one-size-fits-all solve for these concerns and, just like we don't have a standard customer, the answer usually results in a unique blend.

📸1 - A customer who had a room that needed to let the light in, rather than block it all the way out. We gave them soft Roman blinds and puddling, blue sheers. These looked so at home in this bedroom.

📸2 - The requirement for privacy was high on the list for this customer as their living areas could be seen from neighbouring properties. Sheers offering daytime privacy and roller blinds meant they could relax at night.

📸3 - Room darkening, colour matching and pattern clashing were the order of the day. Custom painted shutters and a bold geometric block-out drape made the perfect pairing for this sitting room.

📸4 - Our customer was looking to boost the drama and shield their bed from bright mornings after popping bubbles the evening before. A raspberry red, velvet drape offered the perfect backdrop for big nights in, while the pencil pleat sheer created a filter for the sun once it was ready to be faced.

Paradise is a patio in Patterson Lakes 🕊️

This cosy outdoor space has been enclosed using a motorised café blind to create a flexible sanctuary that can be enjoyed in every season.

To soften the structure, a sheer wavefold curtain made using Sancho 4829 in colour 0591 from Casamance was used to dress the space and enhance light control. This striking open-weave fabric not only adds texture and movement, but its exceptionally high colour fastness rating means it will continue to handle the sun while losing none of its lustre.

A statement red cantilever umbrella from Instant Shade Umbrellas to provide shade and shelter over the spa, was the perfect finishing touch.

Morning, noon or night, this space has become a true haven for the owners. It is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the outdoors in complete comfort.

Meet our Office VIP, Whisky! 🐶

Despite his name, this Very Important Pup is less of a stiff drink and more a big, sweet bundle of personality. When he isn't catching a sunbeam or a toy, he's pulling part-time shifts at the Pats and Fetch Factory. It's hard work, but someone has to do it.

As animal lovers, we feel so blessed when our mascot pays us a visit. To that point, our consultants and installers would feel just as blessed to meet your pets when we're on site! If you are worried they may get under our feet, we encourage you to do whatever makes your pets the safest. Just know, we can work without you putting your pets away. It's one of our favourite perks of the job!

It’s about time for another little teaser!

We’ve been working hand in hand with the owner of a beautiful farmhouse to ensure the textile finishes on the home are exactly to their spec.

Check out this palette. Plum, wine, chocolate and lavender which we reckon are some of the best things in life. It’s not every day that your customer will tell you they want purple sheers and it turns out this gorgeous.

This isn’t even the full scope. Once we’ve (sadly) reached the end point of this project, we’re going to have so many incredible shots to share. However, if you want a little bit of what you’ve seen here, please get in touch. We can give you the inside details.
