Because people thought we only sold paper. Alice in Paperland is a unique business as an Arts & Crafts store with a cafe called Coffee at Alice's, gift shop, creative classes and workshops. If you are interested in anything crafty, would like to do a class or two with some awesome teachers or want to pop in for a great coffee and food, this is the place to go. DAY 2 of Hastings Arts Trail

We had a lovely day yesterday and more on for today. Di and others will be giving free demos through the day so come over and say hello. This is a great community event, which will be on until 4pm this afternoon. The shop will also be open during this time.

The ladies from Art Tribe are busy getting ready for a big weekend here, with Hastings Arts Trail. All Saturday and Sunday so come and be a part of this amazing community. There will be other demonstrations and activities going on in the shop at the same time, throughout the weekend.

OPEN 7 DAYS THIS WEEK!!

We have a HUGE week ahead, with our regular classes as well the Hastings Arts Trail, hosted here all Saturday and Sunday. Not to be missed!! 10am to 4pm each day.

Local artists will be exhibiting, the shop will be open and we will have FREE mini tutorials in the shop with Gerard Smith on Saturday 6th.

9.30am- All About Brushes
10.30am- Acrylic paints and mediums
11.30am- Oil paints and mediums
Bring your questions for Gerard to assist you with.

Our coffee machine will also be on the whole time so come and make a morning of it.

Thursday 4th- TWIN FLIP SCREEN CARD With Vicky. Here is a fun little card that folds into DL size. 9.30 to 11am downstairs. $12.90 spots available.

Saturday 30th May.

As we have a lino printing workshop on tomorrow, the shop will be open from 9am to 2pm. If you need any supplies and can't make it during the week, you can take this opportunity.

We will also be open Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th June, with Hastings Arts Trail. Please save these dates as our store will be a hype of activity with exhibitions and free demos.

We love our work and each day brings something new but you gotta love some customers and the things they say that keep us on our toes.

1. They open the door and ask... are you open?

2. I'd like this paper but I want snowflakes on it with flying unicorns but I want it all in pink with blue sparkles. Can you find it for me? 🤣

3. I'm looking for a paper but not sure what it is I'm looking for, can you help? 🙄

4. I want to buy my grandchild a gift but have no idea what they'd like. Can you put something together for me? 🤔

5. I want to do one of your classes but I want to do it on a Monday evening at 7pm. Is that possible? 🤣

6. It's 10 minutes before closing time and a couple walk in. We want to make wedding invitations, menus, place cards and RSVP cards, can you help us? We won't be long. 😅😅

7. A customer brings a pack of embellishments worth a $1 to the register. I just need 1 of these, can you break up the packet? 🙄

8. They walk in with a craft magazine that's at least 20 years old. " I want to make this card in this magazine and want this exact paper. Where can I find it on the shelf?"🤷‍♀️

What's on this week?!?

With another wet week ahead, we have some indoor activities for you.

Tuesday 19th- SPLATTER & CHATTER ART GROUP. Get together with like minded people to socialise and create. All art styles welcome! Starts 9.30am and $7 for the day. Just bring your own gear. No extra charge for the laughter. Must book!

Wednesday 20th U3A Cardmaking 10am to 12 noon. You will need to book through U3A directly.

Friday 22nd- DIY Work on your own project day. Come and work on your own project among like minded friends. 9am to 2.30pm. Light morning tea provided. Barista coffee/HC will be available for purchase. $8 for the day. A few spots available.
