Ku-ring-gai Council has spent three months closing gaps in its planning controls. Here is what changed for DAs in Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, Turramurra, St Ives and Wahroonga:

• DCP Amendment 13 took effect on 21 August 2026, so the DCP now applies to terraces, townhouses, semi-detached dwellings and two-storey apartment buildings whatever the zone
• Draft local terrace controls (DCP Part 6.1) were endorsed for exhibition, with a focus on landscaped garden settings and room for canopy trees
• A planning proposal would make the affordable housing condition mandatory and stop it being varied under clause 4.6. It is awaiting a Gateway determination
• A preliminary heritage assessment of 53 items was deferred to the November meeting
