This custom bar feels like a jewel box tucked seamlessly into the architecture of a Toronto condo. Intimate, warm, and classically glamorous.
Crafted in richly stained walnut, the millwork fills the niche like a tailored suit, grounding the space with depth and quiet luxury. The cabinetry is restrained but intentional: shaker panel doors with delicate brass pulls keep the composition modern while allowing the materials to take center stage.
Flanking the bar, tall glass cabinets with textured panels and sculptural X-pattern mullions create a sense of verticality and rhythm. They catch the light softly, obscuring what’s inside just enough to feel curated rather than displayed — a subtle nod to old-world bar cabinets reimagined for contemporary living.
At the heart of the composition, the backsplash becomes the moment. A honeycomb of antiqued mirror tiles glows like liquid gold, reflecting bottles, glassware, and ambient light in fractured, shimmering fragments. It turns the smallest movement into theatre.
Below, a built-in wine fridge anchors the space with quiet functionality, while generous drawers provide hidden storage — proof that luxury should always be livable.
The result is a bar that doesn’t shout.
It glows.
Sophisticated, tactile, and layered. The kind of space that invites a late-night pour of something good and a conversation that lingers longer than planned. 🍸 And for me, a little old-time jazz.
