🍎 From Furniture to Kitchen Island 🍎
Here is my latest project, and this one is a little extra special because it’s now working hard in my own kitchen! 😉
For this transformation, I used one of the gorgeous new releases from Mint by Michelle — Apples 🍎.
I used an A1-size decoupage paper, cut it right down the middle, and placed each half on one of the doors. I then blended the edges with a beautiful dark blue to help the design flow naturally into the piece.
For the rest of the cabinet, I started with a dark brown and Salt Wash to add some texture, followed by a layer of deep green, allowing some of that rich brown to peek through. The result is that beautifully aged, vintage and rustic finish I was hoping for.
And then came the fun part… we added a butcher block countertop, transforming this piece into a fully functional kitchen island! 🙌
Not only do we absolutely LOVE how it turned out, but we’ve also gained some much-needed extra counter space in the kitchen — so I’d say this makeover is both beautiful and practical. 😉
I love when a furniture makeover can become something completely unexpected. ❤️
What do you think of this transformation? 🍎
