Piotr here today:
This embroidery piece is inspired by a place I had wanted to see for years since I first came to Canada, a landscape often called the Canadian Patagonia, with granite spires rising above glaciers. I finally hiked there last summer, and it was absolutely worth the effort.
My favourite viewpoint was from the alpine campground, where climbers from around the world waited for a window of good weather to attempt the spires.
With many other projects and everyday life in between, this piece came together slowly over time. I started stitching it during a fall airplane trip to Europe, picked it up again through the Christmas markets, and finally finished it this spring market season. Not every project gets finished quickly, but small stretches of time here and there can still slowly move it forward.
