A closer look at The Train Station Pub. A hospitality project rooted in the building’s historic character while introducing contemporary layers throughout the space.

From checkerboard tile and striped upholstery to custom millwork, brass accents, and moody tones, every detail was designed to balance nostalgia, warmth, and modern functionality to this restaurant in the heart of Kelowna.

Kinglet Perch.

For this project, Studio Kaiser was engaged by the architect team to thoughtfully edit and build upon the client's existing collection of furniture and decor for an editorial digital magazine feature in .

Our role was to create a cohesive story throughout the home, layering in ancillary furnishings, decor, and botanical elements that felt connected to both the architecture and landscape.

In these quieter spaces like open shelving and built-in display units; we focused on warmth, restraint, and a sense of ease.

Each piece is selected to complement the home's natural palette and create moments that feel both intentional and lived in.

If you’re new here, hi! 👋 I’m Julianna Kaiser, owner of Studio Kaiser.

I work across both residential and commercial interiors, collaborating with a wide range of clients and creative professionals throughout the design process.

From developers, architects, and builders to photographers, realtors, small business owners, and fellow designers, my work is often rooted in collaboration— bringing together different perspectives to create spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and deeply considered.

I also work directly with homeowners on single-family residential projects, helping guide everything from early concept development and space planning to material selections and the final details that shape how a home feels to live in.

Whether it’s a hospitality space, retail environment, custom home, or collaborative venture project, I’m always drawn to projects that value thoughtful design, strong creative direction, and spaces with personality.

New interior styling work for the Kinglet Perch project in the hills above Naramata, BC. Our first editorial styling feature for an exquisite home by an all-local Okanagan team!

The entryway wall is where it all starts, a spot to drop your keys on your way in or a last-chance mirror on the way out.

We created a functional space with a wall-mounted credenza, chunky hooks, and a circular brass mirror.

Our photographer captured the statement light fixture in the adjacent dining room which we love.

Have a great long weekend! Read a little bit about BC's history in our client's recent post. 🙌🏻

In the quiet moments before the doors open, when the chairs are still tucked in and the kitchen is just starting to warm up, we’re reminded of how special this place really is.

Built in 1926, the Train Station has stood through nearly a century of change. For the past 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of operating it as a pub - but its roots run far deeper than food and drinks.

Reading stories on the Old Kelowna page - about grandparents who arrived here during WWII, making this their final stop after journeys from Europe, or families passing through on their way East - reminds us just how monumentous this building has been in people’s lives.

As we head into BC Day weekend, it feels especially fitting to reflect on the history that makes our province and this city - so unique. The Train Station has always been a place of connection, of new beginnings, of coming home.

We’re honoured to be part of Kelowna’s story. Thanks for sharing yours with us. If you have a cool story from past or present we would love to hear it. Have a great long weekend

Set the mood with color drenching; this bathroom's blue-green material palette creates a peaceful atmosphere for daily rituals.

Built in 1969, the home was renovated in the middle of the 2000s. We are starting to return each room to its original vintage state in collaboration with the clients who love mid-century modern design and colour. We started with the guest bathroom, where we added brushed brass plumbing fixtures, clear cedar trim, large format floor tile, and vertical stacked wall tile.

Our team was in charge of procurement and project management in addition to bathroom design. We executed a modern bathroom renovation with a touch of nostalgia.

A few design details from our latest bathroom renovation; shelves, mitred tile wrapped into the window sill, and vanity area that are all visible through the shower glass.

In order to match the trim throughout, we designed a custom-made clear cedar lighting fixture with up and down light. We also restored the door to its original veneer from the 1960s. It takes careful consideration to work with existing site conditions in an older property so that nothing feels too "new."

The Ask: Update a guest bathroom with modern amenities like a walk-in shower, ample lighting, green tile, a ceiling fan(!) and brass hardware.

The Solution: Setting the mood with color drenching; this bathroom's blue-green material palette creates a peaceful atmosphere for daily rituals.
