20 years of choosing craftsmanship ✨

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, we’ve been thinking a lot about what has always mattered to us, and beautifully made jewelry is right at the top of that list! 🥂

We’ve always had a love for hand-fabricated jewelry over mass-produced pieces. It’s one of the oldest and most skilled ways to make jewelry, beginning with raw precious metal formed into sheet, wire, or bar, then cut, shaped, bent, soldered, and filed entirely by hand. Even the settings and smallest details are individually made before the piece is polished and the gemstones are set. 💍

It takes skill. It takes precision. And it definitely takes time.

But that’s exactly why we love it. You can see the maker's hand in the finished piece... the subtle details, the character, and the craftsmanship that make it feel truly special.

After 20 years, we still believe there’s something pretty incredible about jewelry made slowly, thoughtfully and by hand. 🤍

Whitebirch is now at Concept! 🤍✨

We’re always excited to discover another Canadian maker, and we think you’re going to love these! 🇨🇦

Whitebirch began at a kitchen table in Golden, BC, when its maker Tessa created a pair of leather earrings for herself while on maternity leave. After plenty of compliments and encouragement, she opened an Etsy shop, and within a year, Chatelaine magazine featured one of her designs!

Today, she still designs, cuts, and assembles every piece by hand in her home studio using repurposed leather, brass, and wood. Sustainability is a big part of Whitebirch too 🌿, from using pre-consumer leather scraps to minimizing waste and choosing reusable and recyclable packaging.
