I’m SO excited to share that starting in September I’ll be teaching some workshops through the City of St. Catharines Recreation and Leisure programming. I’m starting off with:

Classes launch August 25 and will be limited to 10 participants each. I’ll share more details on the weekend!

✨humbled & grateful✨

I wasn’t sure what to expect after my last post. I was pretty scared that there would be some negative responses, but all I feel is love and support from this community.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you for sharing, liking, commenting, and buying something on my website. Thank you for your kind words. For the first time in a long time I’m feeling hopeful, even though everything is still uncertain. Things are shifting and I’m feeling inspired to make and to teach.

The quote from the first slide is from the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and I’ve been thinking about it so much. I’ve been fearful for so much of my life, for so many reasons. As I’m getting older and learning more about myself, I’m leaning much more into curiosity. I’m not finished this piece, but so far I’ve appliquéd the quote onto fabric that I naturally dyed with madder, and screen printed with a crystal/gem pattern I designed.

✨ 49 ✨

Yesterday was my birthday. It’s a weird birthday, 49. Not a milestone, but that big number is so close.

I know some of what this last year of my forties will bring- tying up loose ends, getting long overdue projects into people’s hands, working on new and exciting things. But there’s also so much unknown. So many things that are beyond my control that I’ve been trying desperately get sorted.

So for now, here are some images that brought me joy on my birthday. Me, trying my best to get a good selfie with my sweet pup Ginny. My favourite quote from Big Magic by that I’m turning into a mixed media project- more on that soon. Plus, a bunch of favourite images that have popped up on my screen during this magical Gemini season.
