🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from John’s Fusion Kitchen! 🍽️

We are closed on Thanksgiving, as it fells on our regular weekly closing day. Our team will be taking extra time to rest, celebrate, and enjoy their own holiday feasts with family!

It means so much to us when our guests feel more than just a good meal—they feel a little bit of home. 🥰

Our guests were traveling a long way in their RV and mentioned that cooking Chinese food on the road wasn’t easy. Before they continued their journey, we packed them some rice and our homemade braised beef shank, and sent them off with some fresh zucchini from our own garden. ❤️

Knowing that they were happy enough to make a detour off Highway 1 just to visit us truly touched our hearts!

At John’s Kitchen, we’re not just serving food—we’re grateful for every person who walks through our door, whether you’re a local regular or a traveler passing through Winnipeg. 🍜❤️

It means so much to us when our guests feel more than just a good meal—they feel a little bit of home. 🥰

❤️ So much love for our baby girl. 👶🏻🥰

Our little girl arrived Friday evening, right in the middle of the dinner rush! 😂

When our family called Chef John and told him that I needed to go to the hospital, he already had at least seven orders waiting in the kitchen. Of course, being John, his first thought was, “I need to finish these orders before I leave!” 😂

He tried his best to get everything done before rushing to the hospital. He almost made it — there were just two dishes left from one customer’s four-dish order. Thankfully, the customer was so understanding. We truly appreciate that kindness. ❤️

With all that, John unfortunately didn’t make it in time to see the actual birth of our daughter. But he made it there in time to cut the umbilical cord! 😂✂️

The nurse told him he might need to cut back and forth a few times… but apparently all those years of handling things in the kitchen paid off. He just *snip* — got it done in one go! LOL. 😂❤️

A huge thank you to my amazing colleague who drove me to the hospital and stayed with me through the birth. She had told me before that no matter what she was doing, if I needed her, she would come. And she really did. I will never forget that. ❤️

And thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has sent us congratulations, messages, gifts, and well wishes. We haven’t been able to reply to everyone yet, but please know that we’ve seen your messages and they mean so much to us. 🥹❤️

We’ve also been so touched by the little acts of kindness from our community.

One customer, who chose to remain anonymous, left a cash gift behind the poster we put up to let everyone know that the restaurant was temporarily closed🥹 Another neighbourhood friend quietly dropped off baby gifts at our front door without even letting us know.

These little things may seem small, but they have touched our hearts so deeply. ❤️

At a time when our family is tired, emotional, and adjusting to life with a new little one, all of this love and kindness reminds us how lucky we are to have such an amazing community around us.

From our family to yours — thank you for all the love.❤️

We’re so grateful, and we’ll keep doing our best to serve our community with the same love and care. 🍜❤️
