Natural light can influence far more than the appearance of a room.

At Cavell Park Care Home, the Sun Lounge features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, softened with voile to maximise daylight while reducing glare.

The space gives those living there an uninterrupted view outdoors, allows them to enjoy the warmth of the sun and supports mood and healthy circadian rhythms.

It is a beautiful example of how evidence-led interior design can support everyday wellbeing.

We’re delighted to see our work at Trent Bridge Care Home featured by the Society of British & International Interior Design (SBID).

With a compact footprint and the home arranged vertically across five floors, Trent Bridge presented a very different design challenge.

But good care home design is about seeing the possibilities.

We used the building’s elevated position and incredible views across Nottingham to help create a home that feels connected to its surroundings. Familiar landmarks, carefully considered wayfinding, distinctive spaces and an impressive rooftop garden all play their part in supporting orientation, memory, conversation and wellbeing.

For us, this project perfectly demonstrates why specialist care home interior design goes far beyond creating beautiful spaces.

It’s about understanding how people experience them — how they move around, how they recognise where they are and how their environment can continue to bring comfort, familiarity, joy and connection.

A care home should provide opportunities to live well, pursue interests and spend meaningful time with others.

At Cavell Park, the interior includes a cinema, café, gym, hair and nail salon, leisure and wellness room, private dining room and a range of welcoming communal spaces.

The main lounge has also been carefully zoned into intimate Reading, TV and Sun Lounges, giving people greater choice over how and where they spend their time.

We are delighted to announce that the Care Home Interiors Company is part of the development team bringing Meadow View Care & Living by the to life in Staplehurst, Kent.
Developed by Hoama Group, Meadow View will be a purpose-built, 70-bedroom care community providing residential, nursing, dementia and complex care.
It will also include Harmony Community: a specialist 16-bedroom community for older Deaf people who communicate primarily through British Sign Language.
Our role is to help translate this ambitious and highly detailed brief into welcoming, practical and inclusive interior environments.
We are proud to be working alongside a specialist development team on a project with the potential to create a genuinely different model of care.

Wellbeing is closely connected to feeling part of something.

Care home interiors can help create opportunities for conversation, shared experiences and meaningful social interaction.

A welcoming café may encourage residents and relatives to spend more time together. A thoughtfully arranged lounge can make conversation feel easier. A smaller seating area can provide a more comfortable setting for those who find larger groups overwhelming.

It is not simply about filling a room with furniture.

It is about understanding how people naturally come together and creating spaces that support those moments.

The right environment cannot manufacture relationships, but it can make connection feel easier, more comfortable and more inviting.

And sometimes, a favourite chair positioned in the right place is where a new friendship begins.
