Shutter specialist, you say? Yes - this is why….. 🧐

We’ve been uber excited to share some photos of this incredible project we took on this summer. This spectacular arched window just about tops out at a whopping 3.5 meters, and presented a real challenge to design shutters for. Challenges - we love em! We needed a small scaffold tower for this one, spending quite some time on the design and detailed measuring, to ensure an accurate, beautiful fit. Our customers wanted the lower, large panels to open to the sides so they could look out upon the stunning Howgills. They also opted for large, 89mm louvres and a custom Farrow and Ball, matched finish.

The result? This one speaks for itself! 🤩

A fab installation completed last week in Bowness.

Our customers wanted the option of folding the panels on both window and door right back on to the walls at either sides. Not surprising, that view over Windermere is something special! We designed the shutters with this in mind, setting them at the front of the reveal and carefully trimming out the sill to accommodate the frame. A super result!

A super quick round up of a few recent installs. This lovely bay window was completed for our customer in County Durham, whilst we visited returning customers in both Barnard Castle and Ulverston, adding shutters to their utility and dining rooms respectively. Examples of differing shutter styles; splay bay, standard and tier-on-tier pictured. All hardwood, all gorgeous! 🤩

114mm louvres - are you kidding?!😮

It’s incredibly rare that our biggest louvre offering is chosen, but a special window deserves a special slat size. If you want to make a statement, this is it. Big, bold, beautiful. A huge amount of light pours through the wide gaps between these Goliath louvres. A bold choice, but proof that bold choices pay off!

Completed just last week in Arnside.

Alas, summer is over for another year and it’s back to school, kids! So we thought it would be a good time to look at one of our recent summer installs when the sun was doing its thing. 😎

Tier on tier shutters expertly fitted by Martin throughout this house in Kirkby Stephen, with his usual meticulous attention to detail! 🔍

Emma couldn’t have been happier with the whole service and product, leaving us a thoroughly wonderful review on Google that had us grinning from ear to ear.

‘Our experience with Martin at Skyline was honestly a dream from beginning to end. He was so helpful and overcame problems with the age of our property that had stumped some national suppliers and even had our family related joiner concerned, delivering us beautifully finished shutters that look flawless and have had people knocking on the door for details of the supplier. Martin was considerate and efficient and offered a more competitive price than our previous quotes and almost certainly offered a better service and outcome. We were also much happier to give our business to a local supplier who cares about your result. Couldn’t be more delighted and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟’

Two solid panel shutters we fitted over the summer in this lovely old farmhouse near Appleby.

Adding much needed insulation for the winter months, these premium hardwood shutters blend well with the traditional character of the house. Finished in ‘French Oak’, with customised antique brass hinges and flush ring pulls.

🧐 Good to know: Our hardwood shutters can be chosen in both painted or stained options. Painted shutters are made from basswood for a smooth, durable option. Stained shutters are made from lightweight Palownia hardwood - a wonderful grained alternative.

Shutter and shade - a great night’s sleep guaranteed! 🛌 💤

Standard shutters block out more light than blinds and curtains, and for most people they’re dark enough. But for those who struggle to sleep with any light sneaking into their bedroom this is the perfect combination. Beautiful shutters with an integrated black out blind sat neatly in a channel within the frame. They’re also ideal for children’s rooms, with some of these we completed here near Appleby a great example.

With a wide choice of shade colours to choose from there’s something to match any room. Oh, they’re also a ‘dream’ to operate! 😴

👆It’s about time we posted some photos of this impressive installation we carried out in Lazonby, some weeks ago.

12 windows in total, with our customers opting for traditional solid panels downstairs and louvred shutters upstairs, for greater flexibility. All created from beautiful lightweight basswood, apart from bathrooms, which utilise our ultra robust and water resistant ABS plastic. A stunning finish to the windows in this wonderful former vicarage. 🏡
