Alas, summer is over for another year and it’s back to school, kids! So we thought it would be a good time to look at one of our recent summer installs when the sun was doing its thing. 😎

Tier on tier shutters expertly fitted by Martin throughout this house in Kirkby Stephen, with his usual meticulous attention to detail! 🔍

Emma couldn’t have been happier with the whole service and product, leaving us a thoroughly wonderful review on Google that had us grinning from ear to ear.

He was so helpful and overcame problems with the age of our property that had stumped some national suppliers and even had our family related joiner concerned, delivering us beautifully finished shutters that look flawless and have had people knocking on the door for details of the supplier. Two solid panel shutters we fitted over the summer in this lovely old farmhouse near Appleby.

Adding much needed insulation for the winter months, these premium hardwood shutters blend well with the traditional character of the house. Finished in ‘French Oak’, with customised antique brass hinges and flush ring pulls.

🧐 Good to know: Our hardwood shutters can be chosen in both painted or stained options. Painted shutters are made from basswood for a smooth, durable option. Stained shutters are made from lightweight Palownia hardwood - a wonderful grained alternative.

Shutter and shade - a great night’s sleep guaranteed! 🛌 💤

Standard shutters block out more light than blinds and curtains, and for most people they’re dark enough. But for those who struggle to sleep with any light sneaking into their bedroom this is the perfect combination. Beautiful shutters with an integrated black out blind sat neatly in a channel within the frame. They’re also ideal for children’s rooms, with some of these we completed here near Appleby a great example.

With a wide choice of shade colours to choose from there’s something to match any room. Oh, they’re also a ‘dream’ to operate! 😴

Several windows completed across this property in Kirkby Stephen recently, ready for our customer to complete the surrounding decor. It’s always fab to be part of a house renovation project, being a piece of the jigsaw that sees a home develop.

👆It’s about time we posted some photos of this impressive installation we carried out in Lazonby, some weeks ago.

12 windows in total, with our customers opting for traditional solid panels downstairs and louvred shutters upstairs, for greater flexibility. All created from beautiful lightweight basswood, apart from bathrooms, which utilise our ultra robust and water resistant ABS plastic. A stunning finish to the windows in this wonderful former vicarage. 🏡

GAME, SET & MATCH! 🎾

We served up an ace this week, with beautiful shutters fitted across the front of this property in Penrith. Pure white, hardwood panels and large 76mm louvres for a clean, bright, contemporary look. Janice was absolutely delighted with this combination; a real winner and a score of Love, Love, Love ❤️

(Did somebody say Wimbledon had begun? 😉)

Keep it cool everyone, keep it cool! 😎

There may be a heatwave, and working in these windows with the hot sunshine pouring in this morning was ‘interesting’ (🥵), but our panels are our secret weapon when it comes to keeping cool. Shutters are the best option for deflecting sunshine and keeping rooms cooler in the summer. Not only that, you can still keep the light coming in by adjusting the louvres to the perfect angle.

Oh, and they’ll also keep your house warmer in the winter. It’s a thermally efficient win-win! 🙌

The weekend saw Team Skyline take part in the fabulous The Yomp Mountain Challenge, held in Kirkby Stephen. 🏔️ 🏃‍♀️ 🙌

The Yomp is a brilliant local event, comprising of a number of different running / hiking challenges over different lengths and routes, taking competitors out into the beautiful eastern Cumbrian fells and Yorkshire Dales. The event also raises money for local causes.

Yolanda and Leo smashed the 10km route on Saturday, whilst Martin tackled the gruelling 65km ‘ultra’ - a rather grand day out.

We’re thrilled to take part and support such a fantastic event, and take our hats off to all the legends that make it happen. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! 😃 🏁

We absolutely love this recently renovated study room which we finished off with our premium hardwood solid panel shutters, for a classic look. We included a single, flush ring pull to open up the panels for a minimalistic, clean finish. Combined with stunning furniture by Thwaite Holme, this stylish room oozes quality everywhere you look.
