Hello, November ❤️

Well October certainly brought about some difficult decisions, plenty of emotions and a lot of thinking about what moving forward looks like.

But a new month brings a fresh page along with 30 days of creating and positivity.

The actual physical shop is the part that’s closing—Nyla’s Dreams Aromas and Fi’s Heart & Home are still here. I’ll continue making, creating, taking orders and attending more markets whenever I can.

Things may look a little different until I get myself back on an even keel, but the person and the heart behind both businesses remains exactly the same.

One page. Two passions. And November is a new chapter just waiting to be written.

Tech Tuesday… and the tech has decided not to play! 🙄

Cables all connected properly ✅
Internet working ✅
Computer working ✅
Modem/Tower… absolutely not! ❌
Printer - 50/50 as long as you don’t need labels 🤣

Isn’t technology absolutely fabulous when it all works? But when one wee box decides it’s had enough, everything seems to grind to a halt! 🤦‍♀️

A new one is on its way and should arrive sometime tomorrow, so I’m having to practise a little patience in the meantime… not necessarily my strongest skill! 😂

Anyone else having a Tech Tuesday like mine?

While I navigate the tech issues, Lynda is taking care of the shop today. It’s a wee bit windy but I know she’d still love to see you if you’re out and about.

The street’s awfy quiet today! Those that are out and about seem focused on getting their shopping done and heading home before tonight’s storm. 🌧️

With rain due at 1, I’ll be closing at 12.30 today and heading home myself for a wee cuppa.

Hello Monday ☺️

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who has messaged me since I shared the news of closing with you. It wasn’t an easy decision, and I’m still processing everything that comes with it, but your kindness has meant more than I can properly put into words.

Just to reassure everyone, it’s only the physical shop that’s closing. Nyla’s Dreams Aromas and Fi’s Heart & Home are still very much here. I'll still be online and, for the time being when I can, you'll also find me at some local markets.

In fact, I’ve spent this morning busy making and creating, starting of with some personalised coasters and baubles as we head into the run-up to Christmas. There’s still plenty to keep these hands occupied! 🎄

I’m still working out what the next chapter will look like—just without quite so many walls, bills and keys to worry about.

A wee bit of news, and this is definitely one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write… 🤎

After months of soul-searching, I’ve made the very difficult decision to close our bricks-and-mortar premises on the High Street.

With ongoing health issues, rising running costs and poor footfall, I’ve reached the painful realisation that I can’t keep going as I am. I’m emotionally, mentally, and physically burnt out, and as hard as it is to admit, I’ve nothing left to give to keeping the shop going.

There’s also the possibility of a house move on the horizon (more on that as it unfolds), and I need time to sort things out at home, look after my health and give myself some breathing space.

So much of my heart has gone into this wee shop. Making this decision has been painful, but I know that something needs to change.

This is only the shop premises closing, though — I’m still here! Nyla’s Dreams Aromas and Fi’s Heart & Home will carry on. I’ll still be about locally and online, creating, taking orders and sharing things here (cos you’re not getting rid of me that easily - well maybe not until I know more about the move) and I hope to attend more markets when I’m able to 🤎

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone. For every share, every like, every follow, every purchase, every recommendation, every blether and every bit of kindness. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know and kept me going through all the scaffolding.

I’ll share the closing arrangements soon. For now, I’m going to head on home (1pm) and take tomorrow off as I need to listen to what my head and body have been trying to tell me for a while.
