I have always loved arts and crafts! As a little girl, I loved to draw and as I got older I tried to have at least one creative and crafty project a year around my day job (such as painting pumpkins, découpaging advent calendars, making Christmas stockings and many more!). Whilst heavily pregnant and nesting during lockdown, I turned to craft to keep me relaxed and to come up with something specia

l and unique for my little one's nursery. I decided to try my hand at punch needle embroidery and bought a kit and away I went. Before long, I was hooked and even after Leo's arrival, I found myself sketching out designs and making more hoops during nap times. Not content with confining myself to creating characters for his safari-themed nursery, I carried on creating more designs and started making hoops for friends and family and then decided to set up Flossie & Bean. You may be wondering where the name Flossie & Bean comes from, well... "Flossie" is my husband's nickname for me and from the moment we saw Leo on our first scan, we have called him "our little bean"! I hope that my creations bring a little bit of joy to those who receive them. Thank you for reading!

I had no plan… just punch needle, a love of colourful yarn and some slightly bonkers ideas. 😂🧶

These are the result — some pretty cool pieces that I’m ridiculously proud of.

I wanted to create artwork inspired by some of the things we all love, so I picked up some colourful yarn, started punching and basically let the ideas take over.

I’m so excited that my first ever exhibition pieces will be on display from tomorrow at the Spectrum exhibition . 🌈

Pretty proud of this little milestone. 💛

If you’re local, pop along and have a look!

What happens when you teach a group of lovely ladies a new craft? 👀

They leave feeling relaxed, accomplished and very proud of the cute punch needle decorations they’ve made themselves. 🥰

Yesterday was my final Summer workshop and my first at the lovely and what a wonderful way to finish the season.

The sun was shining, there was tea and delicious cake, lovely conversations between strangers and a real sense of pride as everyone mastered punch needle and made their own decorations.

I love that I get to call this my job now. Although, it really doesn’t feel like work. ❤️

My Autumn workshops are live on my website and some venues already have just 1 or 2 spaces remaining.
If you’d like to join me, I’d recommend booking sooner rather than later. I’d love to see you there! 🧶✨

Summer, you’ve been a good one ☀️

Filled with simple pleasures, fun adventures, family time, lots of fresh air and plenty of reasons to appreciate how lucky we are.

From growing strawberries with the boys and teaching Leo to punch needle, to LEGOLAND adventures, castle hunting, baking days, lovely walks with Poppy and plenty of ice cream too 🍦

There’s also been birthday cake, a few lovely workshops, cute punch needle hoops made, a spa evening date night and some pretty special moments too like watching the solar eclipse together. 🌘

Summer is intentionally a quieter time for me when it comes to workshops and I’ve really enjoyed having a little more space for family, creativity and making.

Summer really is my fave. ☀️

Unpopular opinion: I’d rather have repeat customers than go viral. 👀

Don’t get me wrong, I love a viral reel (not that I’ve had many! 😂) but seeing your names pop up on my phone when another workshop booking comes through means so much more.

To everyone who has booked a workshop with me and then come along to another (and sometimes another one after that!) … I see you 🥹

There are so many places you could choose to spend your money, so every time you choose to support my little business, I’m genuinely very grateful.

I’m also blown away by the number of bookings for my Autumn workshops already. Spaces are selling quickly and my diary is filling up (thank you 🙏).

Whether you’re a familiar face or thinking about joining me for the first time, I’d love to see you there.

Autumn punch needle workshop dates are on my website — link in bio. 🧡

A recent personalised name sign that made its way to its forever home this week, featuring one of my favourite Liberty fabrics. 🌸

A quick blast with the hairdryer to remove any remaining pen marks, then wrapped in tissue paper and sent off with love to its forever home.

A little reminder that, as well as teaching my punch needle workshops, I’m still punching away in the background creating your personalised pieces too. 🧶💕

A little behind the scenes small business decision from me… 👀

I’m not doing a Halloween collection this year. 🎃

Historically, I’ve rushed to put one together because it feels like I should… but my handmade Halloween decorations haven’t actually been all that popular.

That’s ok! Running a small business means figuring out what works, what doesn’t and where my time is best spent.

So this year, I’ve decided to focus my energy on helping you to make your own Autumn decorations at my workshops instead. 🍂🧶

And it seems like you’re pretty keen! Two of my Autumn workshops have already SOLD OUT which I’m so grateful for, thank you 🙏

You’re definitely ready for cosy crafting season… and I’m very happy to help! 🤎

If you fancy an evening of punch needle, autumn vibes and making something lovely with your own hands, you know where to find me.
