Chalk’s new-build café proposal for Shoreham Beach Green has been submitted for planning approval.
Our Corten clad seaside café and community hub proposal, to replace a run-down toilet block on Shoreham Beach, will be going before Adur’s Planning Committee shortly. A palette of durable materials, Corten and timber shuttered concrete, will be used to create a striking building set into the sloping landscape.
The new café will create amenity space to enhance the experience of the local beach, green space and the adjacent playground. It will also provide a stop-off point for cyclists on the National Cycle Route running beside the site.
A roof terrace offers views of the sea and over the River Adur to the South Downs. This, coupled with the café and rentable multifunction room, will provide Shoreham Beach’s residents and visitors with a beautiful, functional and well-managed community hub, a significant upgrade to the existing facilities.
