LOOSE TIPPED DELIVERIES ON A MINGIN', BOGGIN', HOWLIN' DAY!
Scotland being Scotland, we are never that far away from a downpour & with the forecast looking pretty dreich over the next couple of weeks, so we thought we would give a quick heads up about how the rain can affect your delivery.
💧 Does rain damage kiln-dried logs?
Short answer: no.
Longer answer: Surface water does not undo the kiln-drying process. Kiln-dried logs are dried internally, not just on the outside. If the logs get a bit wet on the surface, the water will not pe*****te into the wood too far and do not turn into unseasoned logs again when wet by rain. The logs will dry back out very quickly once stored away (preferably in a log store or somewhere that is ventilated and sheltered from the elements).
🚚 After your delivery
Our drivers are also happy to cover your logs after drop off if you have a tarpaulin available. If you do not have one, we also sell XL tarpaulins for £15, which can be added to your order and give extra peace of mind that your logs are protected from any downpours after we leave.
📅 Want to delay your delivery? No problem!
If you would rather wait for drier weather, we are more than happy to delay your delivery. If you would like to delay your delivery please reschedule & we will move you into the next available delivery slot or try to accommodate a date you prefer. Please try to give us ample time to reschedule so we can alter our delivery routes and allow other customers the opportunity to take your space. During peak season there may be a few days delay until there is a clear space in our diary but we do our best to not have you hanging around too long!
🌦️ Weather Forecast
We keep an eye on the forecast when planning loose tipped deliveries however from our experience it is very rarely accurate and almost always not as bad as the press can make out. We have had wet days predicted that end up being blue skies, and days that look like tshirt weather bringing downpours!
So to recap, rain is not our best case scenario for a delivery, however it does not have to put too much of a dampener on proceedings if you still wish to receive your delivery. Just be sure to dig out your packamac!
