I’ve been in a right work hyperfocus the last few weeks, and I’m finally seeing the stripe! I mean light!

One of the absolute highlights over this last month was this fabric by Dopamine Design Co Official | Wallpaper & Fabric at Decorex International | Europe’s Luxury Interior Design Show. The colours, the organic stripe, the quality of the fabric - the mad patterns as a complimentary family!👩‍🎤

A Welsh lass, based in (oh god! Was it Newport or Bridgend?!) who I had an absolute lush little natter with.

A tall stair wall is one of the hardest spaces to style. The art has to work from below, as you climb and in passing.

The solution: a considered mix of frame finishes and sizes, one cohesive colour story, and two rechargeable brass picture light to make it glow after dark.

Odd corners, under-stair gaps and landings are where most homes lose usable space.

Here, a niche became a little display for greenery, and framed prints turned a pass-through into a moment worth pausing for.

The brief: a 6-year-old boy, chill little soul, who could handle strong colours. Loves dressing up. Wanted his own desk like his big sis, somewhere to display his treasures, and an armchair for bedtime stories.

So we gave him all of it. A vibrant green ceiling, a striped rug that does the talking, a cosy reading corner and a bunk bed layout with room for the big sis when guests come over.

Great kids’ bedroom design isn’t a compromise between what looks good and what works for them. It can be both.

Shelving doesn’t have to sit on the floor holding books.

Turn it on the wall and it becomes a display for his treasures. Add a pegboard and the desk becomes his command centre. Same pieces, used differently, and suddenly the room works harder for him.

Smart storage and clever use of space is often less about buying new and more about rethinking what you’ve already got.
