Let’s talk hallways and bootrooms. Often overlooked, but actually some of the hardest working spaces in a home.
They’re where muddy boots land, coats pile up, dogs shake themselves dry and everyone seems to leave absolutely everything!

But they’re also the first impression of your home. And I think they deserve just as much attention as the rooms we spend hours sitting in.

And if you own a holiday home or Airbnb in the Cotswolds, that first impression matters even more. Somewhere welcoming, practical and full of character can make all the difference to your guests’ arrival. A little considered storage, some lovely lighting, natural textures and a few interesting accessories can completely change how a space feels.

A closer look at the utility room at Project Lockeridge 🤎

From the gingham curtains hiding the less glamorous essentials to the brass details, my clients’s artwork and gorgeous cabinetry, this room is full of character. Did I mention there was a sauna in here too?

And can we talk about the Pulleymaid?! Not only is it a brilliant, space-saving way to dry laundry, but it brings a little old-fashioned charm to the room too. They are so nostalgic to me and I was delighted when my client insisted on having one.

Another one from the camera roll… 📱

No professional photography, no perfect angle, just an iPhone shot of a transformation I still absolutely love. Created on a tight budget too.

Swipe for the before because this is why I love what I do. Same space, but warmer, more useful and with so much more personality. The built-in banquette completely changed how this corner of the kitchen is used and turned what was once a fairly forgotten space into somewhere the whole family actually wants to sit.

Small can most definitely be beautiful ✨

This is still one of my most loved bathrooms, and proof you don’t need a huge space to create something special.

Every inch had to work hard, but we still managed to layer in plenty of detail: marble, scallop mosaics, patterned floor toles and traditional chrome fittings.

It isn’t a secret that bathrooms are one of my favourite rooms to design…this is one of my personal favourites too and definitely worth another look from another angle. You should also scroll to see the original post to see the before pictures! You won’t be disappointed.

We will be releasing unseen angles from lots of different projects, so follow along to see more 👀

Designing an Airbnb is always a balancing act, it needs to feel special enough to make someone want to book it, but comfortable enough to actually live in for a few days.

For this bedroom we layered warm neutrals, olive green, pattern and a few slightly unexpected details to give it character without making it feel overly ‘done’.

And I still absolutely love that striped mirror.

Introducing the Study and Guest Room from Project Lockeridge 🤎

Set up in the eaves on the first floor of the Garden Annexe this room has to work hard. We created a space that works beautifully day to day as a study but can quickly become a welcoming guest room when needed.

A special mention has to go to the Furl | Clear Your Space. Free Your Mind sofa bed which is quite possibly THE comfiest sofa bed you will ever find. A proper sofa and a proper bed in one 🫶🏻
