Ad As you guys know, I’m covered in freckles and moles. I love them, but I’m also very aware of the importance of keeping an eye on them.
I hit 6 out of the 7 risk factors for skin cancer, and both of my parents had skin cancers removed last year, so getting my skin checked felt especially important.
The 7 risk factors are:
•UV exposure from sunlight
•Fair skin, freckles, red or blonde hair and light-coloured eyes
•A history of sunburn, particularly during childhood
•A high number of moles or atypical moles
•A personal or family history of skin cancer
•A weakened immune system
•Using sunbeds or sunlamps
I recently visited Enigma Healthcare in Tarporley for mole mapping. We discussed any changes I’d noticed, took detailed photos of my skin and looked through the images together. These were then sent to the Consultant Dermatologist for assessment.
Thankfully, everything came back fine, which was such a relief! 🥹 I’ll now go back every 12 months so they can compare the images and look for any changes.
If you have lots of moles, freckles or concerns about your skin, this is your reminder to get checked. You can find out more about mole mapping via the link in bio or on their website. I’ve also shared the link on my stories. I’ve got a 10% off code for you Melanie10 (quite this when paying at the clinic desk).
Prevention is better than cure.
