A little Norfolk interlude, and a whole lot of nostalgia.
Back where I grew up, where my love of antiques and all things collected really began.
My grandparents were antique dealers, so for my sister and me, weekends meant antique fairs, blue and white china, cranberry glass, copper, brass and, best of all, my grandmother’s jewellery. I can still remember the thrill of being let loose on the rings. Magpies in the making!
My grandfather taught me to spot a quality Welsh dresser from a mile off, while my grandmother taught me that you can never have too much sparkle.
Looking back, perhaps Rock the Heirloom was always in the making. A little of their influence, a lifelong love of collecting and an eye for things with a story.
Lovely to be back this half term and share a little of that history with the kids. We also had a great visit to .8.interiors and, naturally, I found the perfect sign for me. What do you think?
Some things are inherited. Others are caught along the way.
P.S. Spot the photos of my sister and me! Was anyone else dressed identically to their sibling, or was that just a Norfolk thing?!
