We sell quality country antiques. Everything to do with the farmhouse, things in original paint. Wonderful items to make a home special.

I didn’t plan to be a dealer of antiques but when I got carried away at a farm sale many years ago and spent most of my college grant in one go, there was no going back! I love country antiques for their honesty as evidence of past lives. Old paint, signs of wear and initials all create clues to age and use. Back then, I was lucky enough to see items at source when farm sales were bountiful. I learnt very quickly the regionality of items – something you couldn’t learn now as those farm sales have long gone. To me these items have soul, a personality of their own. With good stock now so hard to find, it is more exciting than ever to be able to offer something that speaks volumes, for its use, design or as a window in to someone else’s life long ago. Call it vintage, distressed, shabby chic, rural bygones or designer interiors it is all here. COUNTRY HOME ANTIQUES formerly Quill Farm & Country Antiques

When you go to a tea shop and this is the view! I tried bribing the waitress but to no avail. It would be very hard to amass such a collection now 😟. Anyway, the tea was good!

This collection of Victorian wedding lace has been in our family for at least 50 years. Some is hand woven on net and comes with its original box marked ‘My wedding lace’ and has the owners names and dates marked on the lid. There are two wedding handkerchiefs in superb condition and other bits of trim too. It was assessed by a museum in the 70s. Now for sale on our website www.countryhomeantiques.co.uk

Two recent additions to my rural life collection. I have always liked regional items and here we have two Kent market baskets, the small one is for cherries and the larger one is probably plums. The small basket has the farmer’s name T Morgan painted on the side. Does anyone know where this farmer was situated?

One of my favourite farm feed show cards from the 1930s. What shall we call this great new food we have invented? I know, Meckumfat! Does what it says on the tin. I love the harmonious way all the animals are queued up for their fill. In real life there would be such a bun fight. We have mounted and framed this show card and it is for sale on our website at £169 at www.countrhomeantiques.co.uk

Have you seen these before because I haven’t? I know most people have got a current hose pipe ban but these antique cast iron hose spikes are just a great bit of insight to gardening from times past. They went on the corner of a border and the moving pulleys allowed the hose to pass freely without taking half the plants with it! We have two of these for sale in our garden antique section of our website www.countryhomeantiques.co.uk

This wonderful old cart back would look great on a wall of a large kitchen or barn conversion. It is not too big so must have come off more of a smaller trade cart. Lovely original paint. Needham Market artist. Now online at www.countryhomeantiques.co.uk or visit us in Norfolk.
