✨ **Therapy… but make it a playroom transformation!** 🧸🌿

Because honestly, this IS my kind of therapy! 🤍

This room was FULL, barely any floor space and so much potential hidden underneath it all.

But this transformation wasn't just about making it look tidy. It was about making the space work for the whole family.

We've created a multi-functional room where:

🧸 The children have actual floor space to play, explore and enjoy their toys.

🌈 The sensory corner is accessible and functional, supporting the children's additional needs.

🛏️ The daybed provides somewhere to relax and can pull out into a guest bed when needed.

📺 A wall-mounted TV will complete the cosy family space.

🏃‍♀️ Even the family treadmill has its place!

Everything has been sorted, organised and given a home. The room can finally be USED rather than becoming a dumping ground for everything that doesn't have a place elsewhere.

And that's what I love most about professional organising -

It's not about creating picture-perfect homes. It's about creating spaces that actually work for the people living in them

A playroom doesn't need to be huge, and it certainly doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be functional, accessible and somewhere children can actually PLAY. 🤍

🌿 **TIDY TIP | WEEK 4 — TOY ROTATION**

Toy rotation sounds great in theory… until it becomes another job on your never-ending to-do list! 😂

But it really doesn't need to be complicated.

🧸 Keep everyday favourites accessible so children can play independently and tidy up after themselves.

🧺 Store a few toys away and swap them around when interest starts to fade. No strict schedules needed!

🎨 Keep messy play items like paints, slime and craft supplies somewhere out of reach. A grown-up can bring them out when needed and put them away afterwards.

And remember, toy rotation isn't a substitute for decluttering. If something is broken, outgrown or never played with, ask yourself whether it really needs to stay.

The aim isn't to have a perfectly organised playroom. It's to make playtime enjoyable, encourage independence and make tidying up easier for everyone.

🎄 9 WEEKS TO CHRISTMAS | WEEK 4 🎄

🧸 Toys, Games & LEGO – Declutter, Sort & Reset!

With Christmas creeping closer, now is the perfect time to tackle the toys before another wave of presents arrives! 🎁

And this isn't about getting rid of everything or creating a picture-perfect playroom.

It's about making space for the toys your children actually love, making things easier to find and, most importantly, easier to tidy away!

This week's focus:

🧸 DECLUTTER – Broken toys, missing pieces, outgrown favourites and things that simply aren't played with anymore.

🧩 SORT – Group similar toys together. LEGO, puzzles, figures, crafts and games all deserve their own little home.

📦 ORGANISE – Clear tubs, simple labels and storage that children can actually access and manage themselves.

♻️ REHOME – Donate, sell or pass on toys that still have plenty of life left in them.

👧 GET THE KIDS INVOLVED – Give them ownership of their space. Even young children can learn to sort, put things away and take responsibility for their belongings.

🧠 The psychology-informed bit...

When children know where things belong, tidying becomes less overwhelming. Simple systems encourage independence, reduce frustration and make it easier for everyone to share the responsibility.

The goal isn't to raise perfectly tidy children. It's to raise capable ones. 💚

When Bingo catches Dad throwing away Bluey's drawing, she's horrified! But Bandit explains how recycling old paper means it can be turned into new paper, ready for even more masterpieces. 🎨♻️

And that's exactly the attitude I'm taking with the mountain of colouring pages and activity books in our house!

Be ruthless! Not every scribble, colouring page or half-finished activity book needs to be kept forever.

They're made to be USED, ENJOYED and eventually let go of.

Of course, keep the special ones. 💚 But give yourself permission to recycle the rest, guilt-free.

Because the memories aren't in every single sheet of paper, and there's always another masterpiece just around the corner! 🖍️

From bills and school letters to important documents and digital records, paperwork can quickly become overwhelming.

The trick isn't to organise *everything* — it's knowing what actually needs to be kept.

🌿 Go digital where practical, but remember to back up important files.

🌿 Keep essential original documents together, ideally in a fireproof box.

🌿 Make sure important digital information is securely stored and easy to access when needed.

Paperwork is more than the pile of post on the kitchen side. It’s knowing where the important information about your home and family is, and being able to find it when you need it.

Bring essential physical documents together in one secure place. Think passports, birth certificates, insurance policies and other records you may need quickly.

And remember the digital side too: emails, online accounts, cloud storage, photos and important files. Use strong, unique passwords, keep your recovery details up to date, and make sure important files are backed up.

For everyday post, open it, note anything that needs action, add dates to your calendar, then securely dispose of what you don’t need. Check retention requirements before disposing of business or tax records.

Today’s tidy tip: keep hand-me-downs manageable.

Save just one bag of clothes in the next size up. Seal it with tape or use a vacuum bag, then label it clearly so it’s easy to find when the next wardrobe switch comes around.
