🎃 The Antique That Was Waiting for You…

They say that on Halloween, the old things remember…

One chilly evening, just as the last visitor left Southan Antiques Centre, the grandfather clock in the corner struck thirteen.

Every other clock in the building stopped.

In the silence, a tiny porcelain figure on a dusty shelf slowly turned its head towards the door.

The following morning, everything was back to normal.

Well… almost.

A little handwritten note had appeared beside the figure.

“Thank you for finding me. I’ve been waiting 100 years for my new home.”

And the strangest part?

The figure was gone. And nobody remembers selling it. 👀

🎃 Dare to discover what treasures might be waiting for you at Southan Antiques Centre?

One thing I’ve discovered about running a vintage clothing store is that people have some brilliant stories to tell.

Someone spots an old band tee and suddenly they’re telling you about the time they saw that band live. A Harley shirt brings back memories of a bike they used to own. A pair of cowboy boots starts a conversation about a trip to Nashville, a country music festival or someone’s first attempt at line dancing. And before you know it, a conversation about a £25 T-shirt has turned into a 20-minute trip down memory lane.

I actually love that side of having a physical store because vintage clothing has this funny way of getting people talking, and quite often the people and the stories are every bit as interesting as the clothes themselves. Although I suspect I’m going to have to get better at keeping conversations shorter if I ever want to get through my to-do list. 🤣

Happy Friday, folks! ❤️

Has a piece of clothing ever brought back a really good memory for you?
