🕯️There’s a lot that goes into choosing the right wax for a candle, and we use soy wax for both our candles and wax fresheners.
Made from soybean oil, soy wax is plant-based, with a smooth, creamy texture. It gives that clean, even burn and has a lower melting point, helping the fragrance release gradually and beautifully.

It also tends to burn more slowly, so you get to enjoy your candle for longer… always a good thing in our book!

For us, it’s about creating beautiful home fragrance while being thoughtful about what goes into each product.

And that satisfying little crunch? That’s just the beginning!

Before anyone becomes concerned, no - I am not attempting to reinvent myself as an influencer! But I do believe in supporting talented people and wonderful independent businesses, particularly when there is a little French connection involved. 🇫🇷 Yesterday, I visited my long-time hairdresser Mike at his beautiful new salon, The Black Wool, on Station Hill in Wi******er, opposite the train station. I filmed the experience from beginning to end so that I could take you inside this very special new space.
I first met Mike many years ago (long before Louis was born) when I was desperately searching for someone who genuinely knew how to work with wavy and curly hair. That happens to be one of Mike’s specialities, and I have trusted him with mine ever since.
The Black Wool is a luxurious and beautifully considered salon, created to make hair care feel less like another job on the list and more like a moment of calm. Bonjour… remember me? 👋 It’s been a while since I properly showed up here for Louis & Co Maison. Months, not years… although Facebook would probably disagree!
For those who don’t know, my full-time work is as a digital creative, social media consultant and executive assistant. And yes, the irony is not lost on me: I spend my days helping other people show up online, while my own little passion baby has been sitting quietly in the corner. The cobbler’s children really do have the worst shoes, n’est-ce pas?

When work gets busy, creativity is often the first thing to disappear. I’ve missed having a quiet moment with my wax, fragrances and ideas, and recently workshops have been the main way I’ve found my way back to them.

But Louis & Co has never been “just a hobby”. It’s a passion, a business, and something that fills my cup in a completely different way. And thankfully, you haven’t turned your backs on us. With the warmer weather, your reed diffuser and refill orders have been through the roof. Merci, merci, merci. 🤍
I can also see some of you are already planning workshops for next term with booking ahead, and I can’t wait to welcome you.

So, consider this my slightly overdue reintroduction. Hello, I’m still here. The spark may have flickered, but it never went out. 🤍

Louis & Co Maison started in 2020 as a way to bring a little piece of my French Riviera childhood to Hampshire. A feeling of home, memory and warmth. Louis was just born, the world was locked down, and what began as a bit of fun slowly turned into something much bigger.

I grew up incredibly lucky, surrounded by love from both my grandmothers. When creating our very first fragrances, I knew I wanted one for each of them.
🌊 Bord De Mer was for my maternal grandmother Christa, a true sea lover who swam every single day.
🌸 Cèdre was for my paternal grandmother Marcelle, inspired by a precious story she once shared with me about reincarnation, with jasmine woven into the blend.
Those two scents became our best sellers. Steady, seasonless and now available across so many products. Losing both of my grandmothers just days apart in 2022 broke a part of me, but every time I pour those fragrances or see a customer choose them, their energy keeps flowing. And so do I.

I’m an introvert. Yet here I am hosting workshops, standing at markets and selling my dream out loud. This business has pushed me far outside my comfort zone and changed me in ways I never expected.

Thank you to every single customer, every order, my loyal returners, my locals who pop by to collect and even those who doubted us before realising everything we do is led by heart and quality. Thank you to George for supporting the business in invisible ways and sometimes very loud ones too. 😅

Louis & Co runs alongside a full time job and a very energetic little boy called Louis. It happens when I can and I’m proud of the juggle I manage to hold.
