The Watermans Arms made a really good point about local businesses sharing and supporting each other.
Working together will always be better than fighting alone.
As a simple idea, if your business links naturally with another nearby business, why not give them a mention in your posts?
If you bake bread, mention the local butcher, grocer, cheese shop or farm shop that sells something lovely to go with it.
If you run a café, tag the florist who supplies your flowers, the local artist whose work is on your walls, or the shop next door that customers might enjoy visiting after lunch.
If you sell gifts, mention a nearby coffee shop where people can stop afterwards. If you are a hairdresser, recommend a local beauty salon, nail technician or boutique. If you are a tradesperson, give a shout-out to another trusted local business you work alongside.
It costs nothing to support each other, but it can make a real difference.
Sharing local charities and community groups also demonstrates community spirit. Try it.
A share, a tag, a recommendation or a kind word can help another local business reach new customers, and they may do the same for you.
Working together works.
