After four fabulous years in the shop, it’s time for a new chapter…

I will be leaving Battle Hill at the end of June so that I can downsize into a studio to concentrate on my own creativity and have the time and energy to teach more workshops. I have loved having the Green Bee shop, sharing the space with so many fantastic makers and artists but it is hard to juggle everything as a solo business owner.

I will let you know where to find me once I’m settled into my new space but in the meantime pop in, say hi and pick up some fabulous art or homewares while you still can.

This is why I love teaching people to sew. To see them grow in confidence and develop skills which they can use and build on.
I will be adding more beginners and intermediate classes soon.

The last ever Green Bee Craft Swap will be on Saturday 16 May. We will have a room full of craft supplies ready to inspire you and we’d like to rehome as much as possible! Bring a bag or three and take as much as you can use, donations towards Tynedale Craft Exchange greatly appreciated.

We will be taking a break whilst we prepare to open Tynedale Craft Exchange in the coming months. We will not be accepting donations until we are set up, please follow the new page to keep up to date.

Lots of new summer tops available this week, each one uniquely made using vintage fabric or embroidered tablecloths. There is a variety of styles and sizes with more being made regularly. They don’t hang around for long so get in quick before they’re gone!

Craft Swap is back!

Saturday 28 March 10am-4pm upstairs at Green Bee

Lots of you have been asking for a OG Craft Swap so here it is. A little (lot!) of everything ready for new homes.

It’s been a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, fabric de stashing and smiley people! Here are some of Millie’s highlights for what’s happening in Green Bee 💚

This has been an epic challenge; from creating the pattern from Millie’s inspiration photos, picking out the fabrics and trimmings from my stash, the endless quilting (never to be repeated 😂) and a big mess up creating two right hand front pieces 🤦🏻‍♀️ After nearly 40 hours, it’s finally finished!!!

It is made using vintage denim (unused), needled cotton wadding and vintage cotton sheeting. It should soften and age over time and hopefully last her for many years. And the most important thing is that Millie loves it and it’s just what she envisioned. I won’t say it was my favourite thing to make but it is certainly my favourite make 💚

Our next Craft Swap event will be a Fabric Destash

Saturday 14 March, 10am-4pm

Fabric remnants, vintage fabrics, rolls of upholstery, patchwork pieces and scraps. There will be dressmaking patterns and even a couple of sewing machines up for grabs.

Larger items will require a minimum donation but everything else will be pay as you feel. We are actively raising funds towards kickstarting Tynedale Craft Exchange.
