🚗 Visiting Baslow? We'd love you to pop in!

If you're planning a trip to our lovely village and fancy having a look around Thomson & Vosper, don't worry about finding somewhere to park!

There's plenty of on-street parking around Baslow, so you can park up and enjoy a wander around the village while you're here.

We just ask that visitors park sensibly, follow any parking restrictions and be considerate of local residents, driveways and access routes. 💚

Once you're parked, why not pop in and say hello? We've got a lovely selection of homewares, handmade lampshades, clothing, accessories, gifts and plenty more to browse!

🎄 Our December Workshops at Thomson & Vosper! 🎄

Christmas is creeping closer, and we have some lovely festive workshops coming up in our Baslow shop!

Whether you fancy making your own Christmas wreath or creating a beautiful centrepiece for your Christmas table, we'd love you to join us for a few hours of festive creativity.

🌿 Floristry: Christmas Wreath Making

📅 Friday 4th December – 12pm
📅 Saturday 5th December – 11am
⏰ 3 hours | £60 per person

Join experienced florist Joanna Price, who has over 35 years of experience, and create your very own Christmas wreath using fresh winter foliage, eucalyptus, berries, pine cones, dried fruits, ribbons and festive decorations.

You'll be guided through the whole process, so don't worry if you've never tried anything like this before!

🌸 Floristry: Christmas Table Centrepiece

📅 Thursday 17th December – 1pm
⏰ 3 hours | £60 per person

Get your Christmas table ready with a beautiful handmade floral centrepiece!

Joanna will guide you through creating your own arrangement using a lovely combination of fresh flowers, dried botanicals and high-quality artificial foliage. You'll learn some useful floristry techniques along the way and leave with something beautiful to display over Christmas.

✨ All three workshops include:
• All materials and tools
• Expert guidance from Joanna
• Your finished creation to take home
• Festive refreshments to enjoy throughout the session

Making a little day out of your visit to Thomson & Vosper? 🌿

We're very lucky to have our shop in the beautiful village of Baslow, and there's plenty to enjoy while you're here!

After you've had a browse around our shop, why not head off for a wander through the village, stop for a coffee and a bite to eat at one of the lovely local cafes or pubs, or pop your walking boots on and explore the surrounding countryside?

Chatsworth Estate is just down the road, and if you fancy stretching your legs a little further, Baslow Edge offers some wonderful views across the Peaks.

There's really no need to rush off after visiting us — make an afternoon of it and enjoy everything this lovely corner of Derbyshire has to offer!

Have you tried one of our Alcohol Ink Workshops yet? 🎨

These are always such popular sessions here at Thomson & Vosper, and it's easy to see why!

Led by the wonderfully talented, award-winning artist Nichol Stokes, our alcohol ink workshops are a lovely opportunity to try something a little different, experiment with beautiful colours and create your very own unique piece to take home.

You don't need to be artistic or have any previous experience either. Nichol guides everyone through the techniques in a relaxed, friendly setting, with refreshments to enjoy along the way.

Meet our lovely artisans! 🎨💚

One of the things we're most proud of at Thomson & Vosper is the wonderful collection of talented artists, makers and independent businesses we get to support through our little Baslow shop.

From Peaklass's beautiful Peak District photography and Caroline Powell's nature-inspired jewellery to Nichol Stokes's colourful alcohol ink artwork, Shaun's incredibly detailed wildlife drawings and Lou Wright's adorable Peaki Pots — there's so much creativity behind the products on our shelves!

You'll also find Sheila's gorgeous Cosy Wren candles and diffusers, Jane Walsh's bespoke property portraits and, of course, our very own Liz Vosper, who handmakes many of our lampshades and pendants.

We think it's lovely to know a little about the people behind the things we buy, which is why we've dedicated a whole page on our website to introducing our artisans and sharing their stories.

Next time you're browsing our shop, remember that so many of the pieces you see have been designed, created or handmade by someone who genuinely loves what they do.

November is looking rather lovely here at Thomson & Vosper! 🎄✨

We've got some wonderful events and workshops lined up in our Baslow shop next month, with a little something for everyone — from festive shopping and chocolate tasting to getting creative with Christmas decorations!

Here's what's coming up...

🎀 3rd November | 6pm – Splash of Pink Charity Christmas Collection Preview | £20

Be among the first to browse our Christmas collection as we transform the shop into a festive little grotto, complete with twinkling lights and Christmas music.

Enjoy canapés, sweet treats, complimentary Prosecco, mulled w**e and hot drinks, plus a goody bag worth more than the ticket price!

All ticket proceeds will go to Splash of Pink, raising vital funds for the Breast Care Unit at Macclesfield Hospital.

Limited to just 25 guests.

🍫 7th November | 11am & 2.30pm – Chocolate Tasting | £32

Join Jennie Parkin, founder and chocolatier at White Syke, for a delicious two-hour journey into the world of fine chocolate.

Discover how artisan chocolates are created, learn about cocoa origins and flavour profiles, and sample a beautiful selection of handcrafted chocolates. Refreshments and a little gift to take home are included too!

🎨 28th November | 1pm – Alcohol Ink Christmas Baubles | £45

Get creative with award-winning artist Nichol Stokes and learn two different alcohol ink techniques to create your very own Christmas decorations.

You'll leave with three beautiful glass baubles, ready to hang on your tree or give as handmade gifts. All materials, expert tuition and refreshments (including cake and biscuits!) are included.

No previous creative experience needed!

We like to think our little Baslow shop is a bit like a TARDIS… there's SO much more inside than you'd expect! 😂

From beautiful homewares, lighting and handmade lampshades to clothing, jewellery, accessories, gifts, artwork and plenty more, we've managed to squeeze quite a collection into Thomson & Vosper!

Every corner has something different to discover, and we're always adding lovely new pieces to our shelves.

If you're ever visiting Baslow or passing through the village, please do pop in for a browse. You might be surprised at just how much we have tucked away inside!

Tuesday 3rd November 2026 6.00 PM - 9:00 PM: This evening will be very festive indeed and included in your ticket price are drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol options as well as a selection of teas and coffee). Canapes and sweet treats will also be served and you will also leave with a goody bag worth the ticket price you pay. More details will also follow, so watch this space...

Please come and join us for a wonderful evening. You will be making a huge difference and literally saving lives. Splash of Pink has already purchased an ultrasound machine for the Breast Care Unit at Macclesfield Hospital (in operation now) and we're doing our best to help them raise funds for a second one.
