It’s been a while!

But we’ve been busy updating our website.
Here are just a couple of maps that we’ve recently added.

Firstly, is an unusual quarter map of England showing the North East. By world renowned Flemish map maker Gerard Mercator, printed c.1595. It is a copper plate engraving on hand made paper, hand coloured and with a decorative cartouche.

Secondly, (please swipe for image), is a sea chart of the Irish Sea by Captain Greenvile Collins. Printed c1720 another copperplate engraving, on handmade paper, it is hand coloured.

You may be interested to know that a recent publication ‘Master & Cartographer’ by Alan Harper - charts the life of Captain Greenvile Collins. Described as the man who charted Britain and helped change the course of history.

With many thanks to just a few of the other antique dealers who made this a very memorable occasion including :-
