Sometimes you come across a place and in your mind you immediately think “I could live there!”
Of course with all the beautiful places we get to visit in our occupation as Welsh Antiques Dealers we are truly spoilt but even so some places easily stand out.
Even though we had much stock over the years in various Fine Art Galleries and Interiors Shops along the high street of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire there were corners of the town that we must have never visited; for if we had we surely wouldn’t have missed this most incredible little lane of cottages.
Following a private buying call at a large Georgian house in the town last week we took a little time to enjoy the back lanes and I’m so glad we did.
As we turned the corner, tucked away between larger buildings we caught a glimpse of a scene that could have easily been from any time in the last 200 years, almost like stepping back in time.
“I could live there” I thought. “I could definitely live there”.
Have a lovely evening all.
Best wishes
Jon

On Wednesday Jon & I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Katie Welsford of and were most fortunate to have had a 45minute Jikiden Reiki treatment in Oriel 3 , Aberaeron. The treatment lasted for 45 minutes each for a donation to local Ceredigion HaHav Hospice.
What a wonderful way of bringing both practices together. Treatments amongst Katie’s fabulous artwork created in response to her work as a complementary therapist. A full circle • Peaceful, gentle Jikiden Reiki for mind, body, spirit.

It was so good to switch off and take time done much needed time for ourselves and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and really felt the benefit.

Diolch o galon / Thank you so much to both Katie and to Helen Duffee owner and founder of Gallery Gwyn in Aberaeron for a beautiful morning.

Katie’s work is currently on exhibition at the gallery in Aberaeron and runs until the 2nd of June.

We would highly recommend a visit and please feel free to follow them both, they really are lovely people.

Enjoy the rest of your evening,
Sending love and light, Yvonne, Jon and family xx

How sweet is this little antique Welsh Dresser we have just taken stock of?
Originating from a small hamlet near New Quay and dating from c1880 this gorgeous little dresser has all the charming signs of being made by a local village carpenter.
Being mostly constructed from oak it also has pine drawer linings, beautifully grained elm backboards to the rack and sycamore shelves and sides. These mixed woods are often found in pieces from Cardiganshire and the rural less affluent areas in the West of Wales and they make for the most wonderful look.
At just 3ft 5” wide (106cm) it is the smallest dresser we have had in a very long time and they certainly done come much smaller. So if you are looking for a little dresser for that special space this may just be the one you have been waiting for.
Please feel free to message us for further details and pics and we will be most happy to help.
Very best wishes

Aberaeron
Our independent Antiques shop is only 5miles from Aberaeron.
As an Aberaeron girl born and raised I’m very proud of our beautiful, colourful and friendly little harbour town.

After a busy day working in half term with the kids helping us we treated ourselves to a delicious honey ice cream from and enjoyed supper from Sara who has been my dear friend since childhood, we first met at Aberaeron mothers and toddlers and then we were in the same class at nursery, Aberaeron primary and Aberaeron comprehensive school and have been friends ever since.

You will find Sara in her fabulous Citroen van cooking and serving delicious street food at the end of the prom at Quay parade Aberaeron just pass the and near the start of the new Aberaeron Breakwater walkway.

Jeremy Clarkson visited Aberaeon last week and he did a lovely write up for about his enjoyable stay in our little town Aberaeron and on this article he commented “There was a trendy looking shop selling honey ice cream and an old Citroėn van where you could get Hackney style hipster food”

If you are after the best pan-Asian street food and loaded fries you”ll ever find look out for Sara and her van or folllow your nose, the aroma really makes your mouth water.

Support local….,

Enjoy the rest of your evening, sending love, Yvonne and family xx

Our antiques deliveries recently took us to Haverfordwest, whilst driving through the town we were quite taken by the Tabernacle Church which for some reason we hadn’t noticed before. Built 1774 and Restored in 1884 it is quite stunning.

We’d love to know more about it if anyone knows.
Have a great day everyone

Now 🔴SOLD
We have just taken stock of this little two door Cardiganshire Deuddarn Food Cupboard and have fallen in love with its beautiful interior.
Made in Aberystwyth c1830 this beautiful piece features a rare fitted cupboard comprising of shelves with traditional Welsh ogee shaped frieze above three spice drawers.
Spices at the time were expensive and were often kept in specially made cupboards or inside food cupboards such as this one. The doors nearly always have locks to keep the valuable contents safe.
These smaller Deuddarn are much rarer than their three door counterparts and make fantastic housekeepers cupboards and are also ideal fe the kitchen.

Please feel free to contact us for full details and we will be happy to help.
Have a lovely evening, best wishes
