Hello, everyone! I'm Yukiko Wilson, the maker behind , and I'm delighted to be taking part in the for ' Winter Markets.
Originally from Japan, I now live and work in Lochwinnoch, a lovely little Scottish village beside the loch.
In my home studio, I make jewellery using Japanese Shippo enamel [ www.emosiwn.com/enamelling ]— a term that literally means ‘seven treasures’ — alongside metalsmithing techniques.
Growing up in a family that ran a kimono house rooted in traditional craftsmanship, I was surrounded by historic Japanese designs as a child. This early exposure remains an important influence on my work, while my inspiration also comes from the natural world, everyday encounters and the worlds of my imagination.
I'm so looking forward to seeing familiar faces again and meeting those of you I haven't met yet. There's something special about sharing handmade work in person, and I can't wait to be there.
Here are the dates when you can find at the winter markets. I'll be there on Sundays, while Tea Green's events run across both Saturdays and Sundays.
