Our Bedford Park and Chiswick window for the 60th kicking off this weekend.
The world’s first garden suburb, once a fashionable home to artists such as W.B. Yeats and Camille Pissarro, was saved from demolition by the first Bedford Park Festival in 1967.
The Festival’s first patron, poet and architectural critic, John Betjeman, described Bedford Park as ‘the most significant suburb built in the last century, probably the most significant in the Western world.’
