Timespec has been part of Grays Antiques since 1998, growing from a passion for collecting into a longstanding family business.

What began as a hobby, researching pieces through auction books and sourcing from Bermondsey Market, Camden Passage and Portobello Road, gradually developed into the collection you’ll find today.

Run by Sam and Mike, Timespec specialises in watches, pens and lighters, with pieces from some of the world’s most recognised names including Rolex, Chopard, Cartier and Audemars Piguet.

Sapphires are far more colourful than you might think💎

While best known for their rich blue hues, sapphires can occur in almost every colour, including pink, yellow, green, orange and purple. Sapphire is the mineral corundum, and trace elements within its crystal structure influence the colour, iron and titanium are associated with blue, while chromium can produce pink tones.

Some sapphires also contain tiny needle-like inclusions of rutile. When suitably oriented and cut as a cabochon, these can create asterism, the striking star effect seen in star sapphires.
